Typo costs PokerStars €12,254

€12k typo at PokerStars
This writer is not afraid to admit he has had a few typos appear on these pages over the years. It happens, even the first edition of Harry Potter went out with about 20 of them.
They have never cost us much financially though, unlike the poor soul who made this error at PokerStars. It seems an error in translation, or maybe exchange rates, meant that €25,000 more was advertised to some players in the guaranteed prize pool.
Kudos to PokerStars for honouring what amounted to a €12,254 overlay when the larger prize pool did not hit the guarantee.
Hi, the prize pool was €100K Gtd which was displayed if your language in the PokerStars lobby is set to French or Spanish. A localisation error meant that in English it showed as 125K. However, we recognise the mistake & have paid out the €12,254 to the 179 players who cashed.

Mike Sexton memorial
The tributes to the late great Mike Sexton have not stopped this week and it looks like we will have a special event in his honour, albeit an online one.
Linda Johnson, one of the closest people to him, will have the details so make sure to follow her on Twitter:
A celebration of life to honor Mike Sexton will be held on September 22 (Mike's birthday), 2020, at 5pm PT. Kudos to WPT for hosting this event; they will do a first-class production. More details will be posted soon.

Today's Twitter drama
There is only one thing poker Twitter is talking about today and this is Jonathan Little getting banned from Americas Cardroom.
The reason? Little is a very outspoken critic of the unregulated site and although he plays there, he advises people to keep as small an amount of money there is possible.
There is a bit of a rabbit hole to go down, but this tweet from the network's CEO is the, ahem, 'highlight':
