Today in our weekly round-up of the goings on in the UK and Ireland poker scenes we have a great result for a PokerStrategy.com moderator, the result from Dublin's Short-Handed Poker Championships, and some massive events in the UK taking place this weekend.

Cyril Delaire wins European Short-Handed Poker Championships
The WSOPE may be taking place right now in Cannes but French poker was also alive and well in Dublin over the weekend. The European Short-Handed Poker Championships always attracts hundreds of visitors from France and well over 500 of the 818 players in the main event were visitors from there. The field was so predominantly French that only one player out of the final 27 wasn't French.
The eventual honours went to Cyril Delaire who defeated fellow countryman Damien Llommeau for the €65,000 first prize.

One of our moderators has won the online leg of the Genting Poker Tour. eaglestar88 took down the latest leg of the prestigious series on Sunday night for £25,000 plus a £1,600 Grand Final seat.
Keith Bartholomew as he is known in real life is a micro stakes player and has been a moderator of our English poker forum since 2008. He satellited into the event via a freeroll and has already told us he plans to give some of his winnings to charity.
We caught up with the newest Genting champion for an interview earlier today.
Busy weekend of UK poker ahead
UK poker fans are spoilt for choice this week as there are big events in the North, South and Midlands this weekend.
In London there is the regular £435 Fox Poker Club Main Event on October 6-7. The event takes place at the club of the same name near Leicester Square and has a £25,000 guarantee.
At the Manchester235 in Manchester there is the next leg of the LCI Poker Tour. The £275 Main Event also takes place on October 6-7 and has a £15,000 guarantee.
But the biggest event of the week, unsurprisingly, is the monthly Dusk Till Dawn Deepstack in Nottingham. The £560 re-entry main event has three starting days and takes place between October 4-7. As always the guarantee is a whopping £100,000.
