WCOOP Low series announced

While we wait for the official World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), more details have been announced about next month's series.

WCOOP 2017

As previously announced the series will take place between September 3 and September 25, with a $10 million guarantee in the $5,200 Main Event.

Today we can announce a 'low-tier' WCOOP will replace Mini WCOOP from last year. WCOOP Low will guarantee $11 million and for the most part run mirror events at 1/24th the buy-in of the regular WCOOP High events, 24 hours after the equivalent event. No schedule has been released for that yet either.

The other big change will be that, in order to ease on operational stress, there will be no flexibility on WCOOP satellite wins. You have to play in the WCOOP event you won a ticket for, you cannot play an equivalent buy-in event. If you win more than one seat you get T$ for the additional win in most cases (but with some exceptions).

WCOOP Low events will start with 25,000 chips and WCOOP High events will start with 50,000. There will be $700,000 worth of WCOOP seats to be won in PokerStars Chests and there will also be a non-Hold'em leaderboard this year.
