WSOPE: Barry Shulman wins Main Event
And the winner is: Barry Shulman. Last night the US American won his second bracelet at the WSOPE main event sending Daniel Negreanu to the second place. Jason Mercier came in fourth.
It was one of the toughest final tables seen in a while. Players like Matt Hawrilenko alias Hoss_TBF, James Akenhead, Antoine Saout, Jason Mercier, Praz Bansi, Daniel Negreanu, and Barry Shulman promised the finest poker and lots of suspense.
Starting as chipleader, Jason Mercier - against the background of his preceding tournament’s performance - was one of the hot favourites to secure the win. In the end, Mercier only came in fourth and you could clearly see the high flyer's disappointment. However, it was a magnificent achievement for the youngster, who definitely belongs to the most talented up-and-coming player at all.
Right after Mercier, it hit Praz Bansi, who was sent off to 3rd place by Negreanu. Having innumerable British fans behind him, Bansi's presence kept the mood going, but in the end, the 2nd bracelet remained a dream for the Briton.
Heads up between Negreanu and Shulman
Shortstack Negreanu, for his part, by eliminating Bansi didn't just make it to the final duel - "Kid Poker" was even leading and has perhaps never been closer to winning his 5th bracelet.
However, a massive pot brought along a change in leadership and made Shulman chipleader:

Negreanu fights back in vain
Negreanu was down 2.5 million, whereas Shulman had nearly 7.5 million. Even though Negreanu clawed his way back once and got in the lead for a short while with one BB, in the key hand it was Shulman who was ahead.
With blinds of 50,000/100,000 and 
on the flop, Negreanu check-raised Shulman up to 900,000. After a few minutes of consideration, Shulman pushed all in and Negreanu called. It seemed as if "Kid Poker" had gotten the aces a 100 times that night - but the board would always put a spoke in his wheel; this time it was Shulman's turn to hold the pocket rockets. Negreanu showed 
, this time the aces would win and Negreanu was down to one million chips.
A little later, after a heads up taking almost 5 hours, Shulman won his second bracelet and with it £801,603.
