WSOPE Event #3: Only 84 Players Make Day 2

582 players started in the three Day 1 sessions of the £1,075 No Limit Hold'em event. Team PokerStrategy.com members Nazgul and Thorsten77 both entered Day 1C but did not survive.

NazgulTeam PokerStrategy.com members AdminThorsten77 and AdminNazgul (pictured right) were among the 200 or so players who turned up on the third and last opening day of event #3 in the World Series of Poker Europe. 28 players survived the day but both our players were not among them.

As in the first two days, the field on Day 1C was also packed with big names which included Freddy Deeb, Andy Bloch, Dave Ulliot and recent bracelet winner Phil Laak. None of them however, managed to take their chips into Day 2.

Wesley Pantling holds the chip lead

As play moves into Day 2, Wesley Pantling is the man on top with 56,200 chips. Pantling topped the chip counts on Day 1B, Jeppe Bisgaard who topped Day 1A is third while Day 1C leader Leonard Truche is fifth overall.

So far, most of the big names that signed up for this event have already hit the rails. Andrew "luckychewy" Lichtenberger is probably the most well known player in the top 10 now and he is joined in Day 2 by the likes of Tommy Vedes, JP Kelly, Dan Shak and PokerStrategist Manig swordfish007 Loeser.

Here are the top 10 players after the conclusion of Day 1A, 1B and 1C:
