WSOPE Main Event Day 1b: ElkY, Negreanu and Hellmuth Build Big Stacks
The final numbers are in for the WSOPE Main Event and they are significantly down from last year. On a more positive note, we have an absolutely stacked field still remaining to fight it out for that seven-figure first prize.

WSOPE Day 10 highlights
420 players in total - 205 runners bought in for Day 1b, bringing the total to 420 - a massive drop compared to last year's 593. The total prize pool is €4,032,000, with 48 places getting paid and a first prize of €1,022,376.
Still waiting on Event #5- We are still waiting for a champion in the marathon heads-up match between Brandon Cantu and Jonathan Aguiar. Play had been paused until both men had busted the main event - which is exactly what happened on Day 1b, so we expect their match to finally end today.
ElkY leads Main Event Day 1b - The biggest French event of the year was led by the biggest poker player in France yesterday, as Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier finished the day with 190,400. Also in the top ten are Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Chino Rheem and Eugene Katchalov.
115 players in total survived Day 1b, including Roberto Romanello, Sam Trickett, Liv Boeree, David Benyamine, Antonio Esfandiari, Jason Mercier, Martin Jacobson, Sam Holden, Jesse Sylvia, Padraig Parkinson, Scotty Nguyen, Joe Hachem and our own Tobias 'pokernoob' Reinkemeier and Dominik 'aceontheriver' Nitsche.
Michael Mizrachi is still the overall chip leader and both days 1a and 1b will merge today for day 2.
