durrrr In The Middle Of High Stakes Action
Tom "durrrr" Dwan had another one of his regular days at the high stakes tables, losing hundreds of dollars to likes of Gus Hansen, only to return it all by winning against Phil Ivey and others.
Tom "durrrr" Dwan has recorded some significant losses this year but he has not once shown signs of slowing down, perhaps his endless bag of money is really endless.
The recent action at the high stakes tables went well for Dwan, even though he lost quite a bit to Gus Hansen, the money he won in the sessions against Phil Ivey and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies more than covered for that.
However, Dwan still hasn't found a way to make a comeback in the durrrr Challenge. The latest session saw Patrik Antonius extending his lead to $432,631 after the two exchanged 693 hands. They will soon reach 15,000 hands played with the total amount wagered in the challenge a staggering $91 million.
Besides losing $32,706 to Antonius, Dwan also recorded a severe loss in PLO HU against Gus Hansen (pictured left). Dwan opened the session against Hansen well, holding a significant lead, but the Great Dane managed to turn the situation around and make an impressive comeback to finish the session up by $350,000. Hansen also won roughly $400,000 from Ziigmund throughout several sessions they played the same day.
The day wasn't all too bad for Dwan, as he recorded a profit of over $500,000 against Phil Ivey. To finish the night, Dwan played some $3,000/$9,000 PLO against Ziigmund. In the one hour session, they played six pots worth over $300,000 and both took down three of those. The largest pot was worth $462,514 and it went to Ziigmund, but the overall victor was Dwan, as he left the table with $341,000 in profit.
