Tricky Spots (4)

by y0d4

In the following you will be presented ten SnG hands. These hands are originally from our hand evaluation board and have been altered only slightly.

Instead of dealing with a specific topic this time you have to rate hands from different stages of SnGs and prove your overall skills.

Good luck!

Question 1:

FullTilt 9-man $33+3 NL Hold'em (8 handed)

Blinds
40/80

Stacks
UTG (t925)
Hero (t1380)
MP2 (t930)
MP3 (t1260)
CO (t3890)
BU (t1430)
SB (t1960)
BB (t1725)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with AcQd
1 fold, Hero raises to t200, 3 folds, BU raises to t1430(all-in), 2 folds, Hero…?

What is the minimum equity you need to call against your opponent's range?

Question 2:

FullTilt $22+2 NL Hold'em (4 handed)

Blinds
150/300

Stacks
CO (t4050)
BTN (t2330)
SB (t4420)
Hero (t2700)

Preflop: Hero is BB with As9s
2 folds, SB raises to t4420(all-in), Hero…?

For a change let's look at a question of pure estimation where specific reads are irrelevant: What is your opponent's minimum shoving range to make your call profitable?

Question 3:

PartyPoker $20+2 NL Hold'em (4 handed)

Blinds
300/600

Stacks
UTG (t3640)
Button (t4700)
SB (t8310)
Hero (BB) (t3350)

Preflop: Hero is BB with KcJd
2 folds, SB raises to t8310(all-in), Hero…?

You know that SB is a very good regular and he has abused the bubble a lot so far. Is KJo enough for you here?

Question 4:

PartyPoker $30+3 NL Hold'em (4 handed)

Blinds
300/600

Stacks
CO: t6910.00
Hero : t5290.00
SB: t2560.00
BB: t5240.00

Preflop: Hero is BU with Qc5c
1 fold, Hero...?

Another estimation, this time a little more theoretical. Is this holding part of your Nash-shoving-range?

Question 5:

FullTilt $33+3 NL Hold'em (9 handed)

Blinds
15/30

Stacks
UTG (t1500)
UTG+1 (t1335)
UTG+2 (t1575)
MP1 (t1485) (30/12 0.3 AF over 150h)
Hero (t1455)
CO (t1500)
BTN (t1455)
SB (t1695)
BB (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with KdKc
3 folds, MP1 calls t30, Hero raises to t135, 3 folds, BB calls t105, MP1 calls t105

Flop: (t420) 5hQdQc
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets t255, BB folds, MP1 calls t255

Turn: (t930) 8d
MP1 checks, Hero... ?

In the early game you raised your kings and got two callers. One of them known to you for being loose and passive.

That opponent calls your flop bet on the paired board as well. On the turn he checks to you, what's your decision?

Question 6:

FullTilt $55+5 NL Hold'em (7 handed)

Blinds
25/50

Stacks
UTG: t4225 (49/46 over 40h)
UTG+1: t1435
MP: t2065
CO: t1285
BTN: t1495
Hero (SB): t1460
BB: t1535

Preflop: Hero is SB with AhQd
UTG raises to t200, 4 folds, Hero .. ?

A player with maniac tendencies raises 4 BB from UTG. Everyone folds to you and now it's your push-or-fold-spot with AQo. What do you choose?

Question 7:

FullTilt $22+2 NL Hold'em (4 handed)

Blinds
150/300

Stacks
CO (t3600) (good reg)
Hero (t2170)
SB (t6220)
BB (t1510) (good reg)

Preflop: Hero is BU with KhAs
CO raises to t3600, Hero... ?

You find yourself at the bubble with just over 7 BB. Cutoff pushes (effectively 12 BB against SB), you hold AK on the button. What's your decision?

Question 8:

PartyPoker $30+3 NL Hold'em (6 handed)

Blinds
300/600

Stacks
UTG: t3380.00
MP: t860.00
CO: t4455.00
Hero: t3420.00
SB: t4460.00
BB: t1975.00

Preflop: Hero is BU with 5h4h
3 folds, Hero... ?

It is folded to your button, you hold 54s with 5.5BB left. Despite the blind stage the table is still pretty full but that's about the only read you have on the blinds.

So, they are not regulars. What do you do?

Question 9:

FullTilt $100+9 NL Hold'em (4 handed)

Blinds
60/120

Stacks
UTG (t1360)
Hero (Button) (t240)
SB (t80)
BB (t1020)

Preflop: Hero is BU with 7d7s
1 fold, Hero... ?

You hold 77 at the bubble with 2 BB left. SB is definitely commited if you fold but could still fold if you shoved. What is your play?

Question 10:

FullTilt $33+3 NL Hold'em (5 handed)

Blinds
200/400

Stacks
HI (t2580)
CO (t2580)
BU (t2650) (Regular)
SB (t2620)
Hero (t3070)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ah5h
2 folds, BU raises to t2650 (All-in), 1 fold, Hero... ?

Just before the bubble and a regular which you know to be playing too tight most of the time pushes into you from the button. What's your decision?
