Black Member Event: Hamburg
The first Black Member Event of 2013 saw 15 of our VIPs head to Hamburg for a Scandinavian-themed weekend of drinking, dining, dancing - and also some curling (with some mulled wine for insulation).
Friday, January 18

Black Members and their girlfriends arrived at the Scandic Hamburg Emporio Hotel (right) for the first Black Member Event of 2013.
We had Black Members from our Czech, French, Russian and German communities - including the infamous thejoker.
The hotel reflected the weekend, as the entire experience was garnished with a Scandinavian touch. Welcome drinks at the Emporio preceded a Scandinavian buffet dinner in the hotel's exclusive dining area.
Black Members old and new refreshed old acquaintances and met other poker players over dinner to kickstart our weekend.

Saturday, January 19

After an extensive breakfast, all our new Black Members had the opportunity to be fitted for their exclusive Black Member suit.
Master tailor Jörg Preuß set up his fitting room in the hotel and welcomed all the new Black Members.
In the afternoon, the main attraction was a curling competition - oh, OK, it was the mulled wine. Nevertheless we had great fun on the ice rink!
The evening saw our Black Members seek out Hamburg's biggest pizza - a 45cm (18") behemoth.
This lined everyone's stomachs well for the night ahead at Moondoo nightclub (pictured below).

Sunday, January 20
Sunday was the day we departed, after breakfast (which in consideration of the previous night was served until 2pm).
Thanks to all our Black Members who made the event a weekend to remember and got our Black Member Events off to a great start in 2013!
