LAPT starts into its first season

Next Saturday it starts again. The PokerStars.net Latin America Poker Tour celebrates its kick-off in the Intercontinental Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The buy-in is $2.500.

In its first season the Tour will stop in three locations. Kick-off will be next Saturday, May 3rd, in the Intercontinental
Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. On May 5th the Final will take place. Rio, usually the city of carnival, should represent a splendid stage for the new tour.

About 200 players have already been reported for the tournament. Andre Akkari ,
Humberto Brenes, Chad Brown, Gavin Griffin, Chris Moneymaker and
Vanessa Rousso will represent Team PokerStars. Most other participants have, like in the EPT and APPT, won their ticket via online satellites.

The further stops for the Tour are:

» 22.05 - 24.05 2008 - San José, Costa Rica
» 07.08 - 09.08 2008 - Punta del Este, Uruguay

The buy-in for all three tournaments is $2.500 respectively, and the cap for each one is at 300 players.
