Rounders 2 Confirmed

After years of speculation, the sequel to one of the most popular poker movies of all time, Rounders, has finally been confirmed. The movie is still in the earliest stages of development and is scheduled for release in 2012.

The original "Rounders" (1998) starring Edward Norton, Matt Damon and John Malkovich, is widely considered to be one of the best poker movies ever made. Many poker players have also credited the movie for introducing them to the game.

Rumours of a sequel to "Rounders" have been around for years now but nothing has ever materialized. Various versions of supposedly leaked scripts have been floating around the Internet but no movie has ever materialized.

Rounders 2 - no longer a rumour

This time around, it appears to be the real deal as the movie production firms "The Weinstein Company" and "Miramax" have inked a deal that will see the production of a sequel to Rounders and two other movies.

Besides this, the only certainty is that the movie should hit the big screen in 2012 - no further details are available. From what Matt Damon has said in recent interviews, himself and most of the original cast would be game for a role in the sequel.
