Chad Elie, a former online poker payment processor who is currently serving time in prison, has filed a lawsuit against his former lawyer, Jeffery Ifrah.
After meeting Ifrah through his work with Full Tilt and PokerStars, Elie claims that Ifrah encouraged him to process payments using various banks he was connected with.
According to an article on Forbes, this partnership earned Ifrah around $4 million, including monthly commission payments of $100,000.
During this time, Elie claims that Ifrah knowingly withheld information about the legality of online poker in the US, citing a 2010 memorandum from the legal firm Akin Gump as evidence.
Elie has stated that Ifrah was told by Aiken Gump that "third party poker processing was illegal", but that he failed to disclose this information.
As yet Ifrah has declined to comment on the lawsuit.

No sooner had WPT Barcelona concluded, than things were starting up again across the Atlantic in Florida.
Setting up camp inside the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, the latest $5,000 WPT event has attracted 542 players over the course of two starting days.
Indeed, despite the WSOP APAC taking place, the Hollywood based event still managed to generate a prizepool of $2,547,400 and a winner's prize of $660,395.
After two opening sessions the field had been cut in half, leaving 225 players trailing the overall chip leader, Shaun Deeb.
The tournament pro managed to bag 235,400 chips to lead a chasing pack that includes Paul Volpe (161,300), Matt Salsberg (84,400) and Vanessa Selbst (56,100).

The Caesars Cup is less than 24 hours away and so far Team Europe is looking a little underrepresented.
While Phil Ivey and Joe Hachem have named their teams, Sam Trickett seems to be playing a waiting game when it comes to his.
In a recent interview on PokerNews he revealed that PokerStrategist Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier will be joining him for the WSOP APAC event, but other than that he's waiting to see who else is available.
The Caesars Cup kicks off tomorrow and will see current champions, Team USA, face the winner of a preliminary match between Team Asia-Pacific and Team Europe.
