Mini WCOOP is smashing its guarantees
With some events more than tripling their guarantees, the new addition to the PokerStars festival line up looks here to stay.

Figures for the first ever Mini WCOOP from PokerStars show that the low stakes festival, a surprise addition designed to run alongside the bigger and more illustrious WCOOP, has been a huge success so far.
With many events either doubling or tripling their guarantees, the low buy-in companion is now more than likely to find a regular place in the poker room’s annual schedule, taking its place on the low stakes scene alongside SCOOP and MicroMillions.
The tone was set from the outset as the $1.10 buy-in Mini WCOOP#01 drew in 7,100 players who contributed to a prize pool of $93.5k, over three times higher than the event's $25k guarantee. This continued throughout the opening week as events #02, #03 and #04 all massively outstripped their guarantees as did #05, #06 and #07 which amassed a $90k prize pool, dwarfing it $30,000 guarantee.

While all eyes are on the WCOOP propers six-figure buy-in, $102,000 Super High Roller on Sunday, it is perhaps the micro stakes version which is really making an impact.
While the WCOOP, too, has been performing well, indeed in many cases beating most of its guarantees, these have been by much smaller margins than the mini.
