joaocarlosjacinto: In the $0.25 and $1 games the field is very soft. If you follow the basic preflop strategy of SpinLegends you will crush the $0.25 and $1 games with great ease, as the game is usually more preflop. However, at the $3 limit the game starts to be concentrated on the postflop game. Here it is very important you know how to exploit the weaknesses of each type of player, adapt and put the villain on possible ranges. So the game becomes more complex.

Squad77: Ever since I moved up from $0.25 Spins to $1 Spins, I felt that I could be good at this. It took me about three months of hard studying, long all-nighters, reviewing hands, asking questions, even self-doubts to move up to $30 Spins, so no secret at all, just hard work. Regarding the difference in games, they are hugely different. In $0.25 Spins, most hands end up with all the chips in the middle pre-flop. In $30 Spins, they rarely do so. You have to work on your post-flop game, what to do in different spots, different positions, etc.

Mindset advice for high variance games

simon6184: I think in general it is important to work on your mindset/psychology and also on your fitness and health these days, as the competition gets harder.

JaredTendler: The single best piece of advice I can give is to constantly make it your priority to be focused on performing your best, regardless of the multiplier. It’s another form of variance in the game that you can’t control. Don’t worry about that random big multiplier, focus on always playing your best, that way you will have a much better default game when the big Spin comes around. Get into a routine for excellence, with a good warm-up, cool down, system for correcting mistakes and for learning, so you perform well nearly every day.

Tips from the pros

Ignaciomol: Well, a good tip, especially for those players who start from the very beginning is not to focus on their winnings and to focus instead on their EV. It's something funny, but not long ago, I would tilt when losing money, now I tilt when losing EV; a clear example was some weeks ago in a 100 Spins session where I ended up -€200 of EV but I won €900. I went to bed on tilt, badly... even though it was one of my best sessions in terms of winnings. But for me, long term, the important thing is the EV, so now we have to work in our game and the winnings will come... but hey, if I won €500k I wouldn't tilt because of that 😉

coffeeyay: I think it's most important to work on your weaknesses. As you hammer away at the weak points in your game, one by one, you grow the fastest as a player. Weak spots may each be different and involve a different approach to fixing them, but as you continue you'll find it gets easier. You'd think that eventually you'd be done with studying. But in reality, as you continue to learn you realise that what you previously categorised as your strong points you now consider weak. After that, you go back to the places you thought you had mastered and realise that there's even more to learn. Poker is so complex that the learning never ceases.
