WSOP Paradise Main Event beats the guarantee
Overlay? What overlay? The lofty event in the Bahamas has narrowly beaten the $15 million guarantee.
All the talk for months has been about an overlay in the WSOP Paradise Main Event, given that it clashes with EPT Prague and the WPT World Championship, but GGPoker is having the last laugh.
A total of 3,010 players entered the $5,000 Main Event, beating the $15 million guarantee narrowly by $50,000. This is even more impressive when you consider that the WPT Prime event in Vegas got over 10,000 runners and EPT Prague's Main Event looks set to break its own record today.
Every event in the Bahamas has beaten its guarantee so far and it is starting to look like December might be a no-overlay month all around the globe.
The top prize is a clean $2 million with 447 players making the money overall. 59 players remain, all of whom are guaranteed at least $32,2000.
Of those 59 plenty of notables left in the field including Mikita Badziakouski, Bryce Yockey, David Peters, Sam Greenwood, Kevin Martin, Matt Glantz, Mustapha Kanit, Tim Adams and 2023 Colossus winner Moshe Refaelowitz who is in contention for the $100,000 WSOP Parlay Promotion.
