Villain: VPIP: 22 PFR: 18 WTS: 30 AF: 2.0 steal BU 50% Folds to 3bet 73% 4bets 12% (4bet range 2.1%) Sample: 3k Hands - No Reads

Kinda weird situation here. Usually I wouldnt ever call a 4bet oop with 100bb stacks. This time tho I thought it might actually be OK. The player in the BB was a 45/10 fish. Villain on the BU doesnt usually minopen the BU. So I really dont believe him having a strong hand at all since he would open bigger because of the fish. I think I should assume 99% that that he knows he should open his V-hands bigger vs the fish. So I cleary 3bet 4 value here. I have 3bet quite a bunch so I think he might make a play back at me now.

Shipping is kinda bad since my hand does pretty bad vs his 5bet calling range. So I decided to call and donkbluff a few flops or C/R on certain boards. I think on this board I can get him to fold some bad Ax hands.

peflop can just be a missclic.

If you call 4bet pf, I prefer ch/r because he should cbet 100% of the time in 4b pot.

instafold pre for me )
i dont even like 3bet - even if he opens lite our hand will stand bad vs his 3b calling range (alotof dominations and so on). You can just call and play calldown most of the board when hit.

falber: I think exactly the opposite is the case. I find people less likely cbet with air in 4bet pots, so what I tried to do is to get him to fold Ax hands. With some EQ that I can hit on the turn, this FE should be enough to make it an EV ok move.

VzLOM: My hand doesnt stand bad at all vs his 3bet calling range. Since he minopened and I raised it to 8BB he will call much lighter vs the 3bet.

He steals 50%, so insta super standard re-steal IMO.
After he re-raises I would fold though. We do not run well against that range prolly. We haven't invested much, and if we continue, we are going to play a somewhat big pot with a medium hand.

That fold to 3bet, is that his total fold to 3bet or fold to 3bet in BU?
ie: What is his fold to re-steal?

KQ is basically in the top of your range for 3betting here.

What I don't understand is where you see the advantage of calling the 3bet over shipping, the range that you do bad against which would call your shove will still either make you fold on the flop if you're unimproved or get you all in with close to 0% equity.
You will always only flop TP at best and wonder if you should get it in - but vs the bluffingpart of his 4bettingrange you don't win anything while vs the valuepart you go broke as a big underdog.
So ship or fold preflop imo.

The question whether to ship or fold is a matter of assumptions, you can generally go in two directions:
a) He wasn't 4betting up to now but you were 3betting constantly so the first time he wouldn't waste a hand like KK+/AK on his 4bet - a ship is good obv because he folds most of the time.
b) He has not been playing back at your 3bets because he was waiting for a hand - if you ship you'll get snapped by KK+ - obv a shove is suicidal.

I usually go with b), but with some dynamics I think shoving can be fine as well, hard to say without having seen the actual action on the table.

As played you're in the spot I mentioned above: A lead doesn't represent anything because you'd c/r with strong hands but you don't have real air in this spot due to your call preflop.
IMO a c/r would be better, if he's any good he will either cbet/fold something like $25-$35 with air or just check back and give up.
If he does check back you can bet the turn and take it down, I doubt he checks back many valuehands since there are some draws and he'll go broke against better anyway (usually).
