[Closed] AJ vs raise on river

Can someone help me with this spot please?

Really struggling to handread here. Lets go through some possible combos for hands that beat you:

Set. Bets on the flop/turn.
66 folds on the flop. He has no sets in his range.
JT bets on the turn. Probably folds this hand preflop
98, 76 probably fold preflop.
KQcc probably bets the turn.
AQcc you block.
QQ+ bets the turn or doesn't raise the river.

I call.

Exactly, I think he even does not have JT in his range.

BTW that's not to say that I don't hate this spot... cause while he has no value hands in his range, he has so few bluff hands too (they bet the turn usually).

Nice call, I dont' think I could nut the hand out so fast on the spot (well I imagine I would call AJ also, but I might fold "equivalent" hands like AT and J9)

Yes, that would be hard to call with J9/AT, psychologically, when facing this you just think that your hand is so weak and he is representing nuts. In fact you just need somehow to stop thinking of domination and etc.

first of all: welcome to the NL Gold hand evaluation forum!

Sorry when your hand wasn't evaluated right away, I usually go through the hands from bottom to top, so when there are many hands it could take a bit longer sometimes.
But I always try to not rush thrugh the hands but take the necessary time for each hand.
Usually the reaction time is a maximum of 24 hours, but when there are a lot of posts it can take up to 48 hours and in extreme cases (for example I have exams AND there are a lot of hands) even a bit longer although that rarely happens.

However, I hope to see some more posts of you :).

As for the hand:

I'd make it $14 on the flop because we want to protect our hand and get value from pocket pairs he decides to call and most importantly: from draws and KJs/QJs.

On the turn I'd rather bet/fold than check-evaluate because he's probably checking back draws and betting 98.
So I want to charge him for his draws - if he has a straight and raises we can easily fold, we would've payed a bet by check/calling anyway.

When betting the turn we can c/c this river against his busted draws.

As played I'd probably also check the river because I can't see many worse hands that he's calling, his check on the turn is usually either a weak pair or a FD (he's betting TP for protection).
So I rather try bluffcatching on the river.

Yes I agree that bet turn might be the better play. Vilain loves raising CB on the turn, check out stats - 47% of raising CB on the turn. That is why I don't like to play bet/fold here.. He can raise worse hands
And he does not have so many draws, 6% range simply does not have many of them. He might have K♣Q♣ or K♠Q♠ and etc, but I think he does not have 98 in his range.

I bet river because I thought he might call 77 - 88

If you think he raises too many worse hands to b/f - just bet/3bet.
I just don't like the check because half the deck will bring a scarecard.
