User Interface !

Of course it's important. Also the animations and sounds are very important. The whole user experience is very very important. I for one think I am particulary sensitive to these things. I also think it is an area where most clients lack and where you still really can stand out in the market. But yeah, maybe in a few years things have changed and clients upgrade their usability.

Indeed. I'm graduated from 4 year New Media & Design department on University. And now doing some freelance UI's. I think same as you about experience and will share my project on the next months on here.

Check out GGPoker - all the animations, emotes, card squeezes and river slow rolls. Don't do any of those.

Agreed.
Some people really like 'em though -- so if you do them, make sure that you can turn them off.
The river slowroll is a major reason I play on GGPoker as little as possible.

Another case study is PokerStars' move to "aurora" graphics -- they sacrificed a lot of useful features to make it pretty and visually entertaining, quite forgetting that the whole purpose is poker

User experience dictates how you feel about the software which is very important. But I agree Pokerstars has gone downhill a bit. More animations etc do not necessarily lead to a better user experience. But at the same time I think the animations etc that are there are very very important.

But more isn't always better.

Having eye candy is fine for recreational players but as said have those always as options.

What more serious players want is to have clear representation which minimize misreading possibilities or misclicks. For example on Unibet I really dislike how small bet size buttons are. Have misclicked more than couple times because of that. So offer simple table background options and definitely four colour deck. Usability should be first priority.

For lobby usability is also most important. When I use lobby I want to find games I want as easily as possible. Poker app is not one where I want to be amazed by graphics or any effects. If I want that I play video games or watch movie etc.

But then again if those graphics etc. bring more recreational players then I obviously love them as long as I can turn them off.

First of all, thank's for the all messages guys. Really appreciated. Also I'm thinking same as u ghaleon, exactly same sir !. This is why I'm more focusing minimal and beautiful designs. Less but clean, clean and beautiful. I will post my designs after finished. Nice to meet u again !

Good afternoon, as a user, I can say that the design all the same decides a lot, since it is much more pleasant to use an application or a site on which everything is competently and beautifully done, because thanks to this you can act there on an intuitive level. , since it will be easy for you, as a designer, to deal with color schemes and palettes in this case.
