What have I done wrong? Should have I bet after the flop? I taught that if i don't this way I'll get more money out of him - that he would probably try to bluff.

I was wrong...

Your Q blocks QQ.

wrong. QQ is the nuts.

QQ is impossible, so 72o is the nuts, AA is the second nuts and AQ the third nuts.

AA is the nuts in this situation.

Hand was misplayed btw. Are you playin SSS or BSS?
If BSS - why have you only 29,6 BB on table?
If SSS - why do you call AQo preflop ?

I dont mind the flop check - your hand is close to the nuts and only few hands have some chance to improve.
On turn you should call or raise bigger. Here I prefer raising bigger and calling shove.
On river bet/call. He had KK and hit his two outer - cooler I think, although he may have folded earlier, if you would have bet strong (but there was almost no need to protect your hand).

are you guys retarded.

nuts definition from this site:

''The nuts or lock is the best possible hand in a situation. A player has the nuts if he has the best possible hand given all the cards dealt so far. The term is also used in the context of a particular hand catagory. The nut-flush or nut-straight would be the best possible flush or straight, respectively.''

another site: http://www.thehendonmob.com/guide/index.php?p=2.3

look at example 3.

ie. quad Queens would be nuts so holding QQ in OP's board would be the nuts.

can't believe you guys don't even do your own research

sorry for insulting, I just got frustrated.

My interpretation is that the nuts is theoretically the best possible hand given the community cards. i.e you hole cards can be anything to complement with the board.

As shown in the above site link, the have used 44 as the nuts hand on
a 44x board.

But just realised that this does not necessarily disprove that A4 could be the nuts if it were the hole cards.

But LISTEN TO MY TAKE:

BOARD: AQQ

HERO'S POV (POINT OF VIEW): HOLDS AQ, BELIEVES AA IS NUTS to your understanding

VILLAINS POV: HOLDS XX, THEREFORE MUST BELIEVE QQ IS NUTS.

i.e the nuts is a theoretical concept, THE BEST POSSIBLE HAND AT THIS GIVEN BOARD

now lets say villain hold AA (worst case scenario), THIS IS NOT THE NUTS THOUGH, because he will suspect the nuts is QQ (perfectly possible) which HERO may hold.

now you see why I support QQ as nuts

Before i start we all pretend to be one of the players on the table or expectators with no idea what they're hole cards are:

Flop: Q :club:A :club:Q :diamond:
- Its very basic and simple, the nuts on this board is: Q  Q :spade:
- 2nd best hand is: AA
- 3rd best hand is: AQ

Turn: 4 :club:
- Nuts is still: Q  Q :spade:
- 2nd best hand is still: AA
- and so 3rd best hand is still: AQ

River: K :diamond:
1. Nuts is still: Q  Q :spade:
2. 2nd best hand is still: AA
3. 3rd best hand is: KK

Board: Q :club:A :club:Q :diamond: 4 :club: K :diamond:
Now we have our full boards and im gonna explain everything and show you where your AQ stand:

Possible hands from the NUTS:
- QQ for QQQQA
- AA for AAAQQ
- KK for KKKQQ
- AQ for QQQAA
- KQ for QQQKK
- 44 for QQQ44
- Any suited cards for Flush
- JT for Straight

HAND EVALUATION: AQ v KK

Preflop:
AQ - 28.391%
KK - 71.609%

Flop:
AQ - 91.717%
KK - 8.283%

Turn:
AQ - 95.455%
KK - 4.545%

Showdown:
AQ - 0%
KK - 100%

thank you for explaining... but i agree with SonicXT, 7 2 is the nuts (btw when do we get a smily for the nuts?)... at any time, at any poker table and whoever says something different is just a f*** r*d (now to fill in the stars use up - u c k i n ' e t a r - possibly not in the same order)

this post is great, the nuts as a theoretical concept... sounds almost philosophical... in fact from hero's POV (as i just learned) he has the thirds nuts (as beautifully explained by SonicXT)

You guys are the nuts!

Seriously I feel like I'm reading an Abbott & Costello script - and loving it.

well thats same as what i wrote... so you agree QQ is the nuts

Guy's you do realise it doesn't matter what the nuts are right?

It's about how he played the hand.

And imo you played it very well. i would have played it exactly the same way and you didn't make any mistakes

and dont say it was obvious that he had KK. possible hands

- AX
- QX
- flush draw that he made on the turn.
-KX

he simply got very lucky and makes horrible reads. because he would only beat a bluff till the river.

And you can't possibly fold only $0,76 more in such a big pot. and regardless of the pot/all in bet you can't fold a fullhouse when there are 2 hands that would beat you. And i bet no one would have folded if you would in this situation your a retard.
