wow just go a huge suckout, the fact he called over a dollar raise b4 the flop with a5s was bad enough against me KK but he then pushed on flop and hit his set of 5s of the turn. sick, lost over a BI, sick.... it shows im becoming a better player becos i didnt tilt, still lost over a dollar in the session after grinding back up to 4. but sick.... sick.... sick.... i got notes on a lot of players im coming up against now so its very helpful, i think ive finally grasped the tables, im on a $15 profit from the last 2 days, should be 25 but that suckout cost me heavy
just got back over the $80 mark which im really pleased with (especially as ive had few big suckouts today, one with AQ v QJ) and i wouldnt have been able to become a winnings cash player without everyones help, thans again guys.
20 buy ins down in as many games in 25 games. Would feel better if I could blame something other than shitty shitty hands being given to me. Went 2 games without a real playable hand, blind always stolen with nothing to defend with and eventually I would just end up blinded out with nothing to stop it. Went a full game without even seeing a face card. And when I do finally get something to decent to play with I'll find nothing on the flop anyway or I'll be on BB and everyone will fold without even adding anything to the pot. 2 days like this now, getting depressing.
I have just got a $100 stake, and I have lost about 13-14 games without cashing, playing like 5 limits lower than I usually do. It happens to everyone. You just need to stick to your "A" game.
The more you write about it, the more it stays in your mind.
yeah, bad day for me too, 9 sngs in a row - LOST.
got so mad the last hand i picked up AA and told my opponents in the chat that i'm being rigged and i will lose, so they can call me easily. went as expected.

well, you did call it! I'm kinda having a day like that... I seem to have found that I go through phases where no matter what I do I get beat... I used to try to fight back, but it seemed useless and frustrating... looking back I realised that most of the time I was beginning to get tired and frustrated and my decision making became poorer... so now I have found it a lot more profitable to stop playing, take a break, sleep and continue when I feel fresh.... I win more when I feel good...
i had 2 lovely coolers a minute ago, got KK walked into AA, then got QQ next hand and walked into KK, ironically the same dude again. wow, what a pair of coolers, i think im giving a break for tonight, ill come back tomorow a refreshed man, i can feel a mini downswing coming after having a great 2 days.
im not doing well in SnGs, just played 4 games, lost them all, 2 of them i didnt catch a single hand and basically got blinded out, one of them i caught 2 hands, JJ i raise everyone folds, AQo i push because i am shortstacked, called by KK. the third game i get A8 SB seriously shortstacked everyone folds round so i push, BB calls with J2o and catches 2 pair on the flop. sick. that and my bad luck on cash tables and im down $15 today, back to $70 and i have been playing well, its been so long since i went on a sick streak, like almost 6 months or something.
You should never be a shorty in a sng due to folding. Download ICM trainer, it will help you alot.
i didnt fold every hand, i tried making a few plays but just got caught out every time, the cards jus werent running for me and unfortunately a lot of the players at the level im at dont think about their opponents cards so its difficult to try and represent a hand when your opponent doesnt even consider what your representing!!
But you play push/fold, so on the button and cut off you should loosen your range abit. You should never get to short in sng's by folding.
Hi Terry, I am no expert but I would recommend that in the short term you try to stick to either stt OR cash. Playing both formats is tough because they are just so different in terms of the way you play. Personally I prefer stt as my cash game is just not good enough at the moment. If you play 6 seaters with 3 paid, the rewards are not so good but then you at least have an even chance of getting your buy in back and can play more games to learn and improve.
Why dont you start a blog about how you progress. Cannell is right, writing about your experiences does help you remember and analyse your play.

Hi mate - I have been theirPlaying SSS and going knowhere. I must of had one of the worst downswing ever with a bank roll loss of 50% So I stopped completely to reassess, and decided SSS was NOT poker and I would never, never play it again, as you learn nowt.
Ive played around 1000 hands of SSS at 0.05/0.10 (NL10?) at TITAN and it sucks. I play 2 tables because Im just starting. I fold a lot (even SB I would normally call with say TJs) and when I raise 4xBB everyone folds. I get the feeling they can see right through me, its too obvious with the $2 buyin + not completing SB. I switch tables at 50 hands so its harder to read me.
btw, when my raise gets re-raised and I go all in they have AA (happened twice).
So I have won nothing at SSS, whereas with my personal strategy (playing loose and doubling up with straights and flushes and trips, buyin $2-3 at 0.01/0.02 cash table) I have made around $17 (like $2 a day playing around 1 1/2 hrs a day on 1 table).
My question is: Should I stick to SSS which seems very boring or should I stick to my personal strategy I've used for some years? (I have around 11 million play chips and $20 from freerolls at fulltiltpoker)
Of course, I'm watching the videos, reading the strats and will read the forums too.
