Choosing the right Poker Room for you!

So nice to hear how much you value our content, I´ll be sure to pass on the words to Sven who works in our education department, I´m sure he will be thrilled to hear

Party Poker has an inicial FDB of $500, coupled together with Weekly $2,280 Depositor Freeroll (PartyPoker) and others, you can play tracked and play on a large network that gaurantees good traffic. Also you get 3.5 SP´s for every $ you rake so would be relatively easy to maintain a good enough status to benefit from the vídeos and hand evaluation forums for small and micro stakes HUSNG´s.

How does this alternative sound..

Which of the two has more value?

1)Grind on stars for supernova and have a goal of 200k vpps or
2)Bonus whoring through all ongame skins?

Thanks! I'll check out Party but the lowest HUsng they offer is $6 (so BR minimum = $300) and the fee is $1! Isn't that ridiculously high? Or not?

Edit: No it's 50cents. lol, their 'Support chat' told me it was $1 fee.

After Stars has made some rake changes I'm very interested in alternatives, not necessarily long term. FTP comeback seems promising after last announcement so if they come back with something very close to what they offered before that would be my 1st option. Also, Stars could improve their changes in a month or two as well.

1. Which game type you play?

PLO

2. Which limit do you play?

PLO25

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up?

Short handed.

4. How much do you play?

6 tables preferably, about 3-4 hours a day. Could be more, could be less depending on what the specific site is offering in terms of traffic and user friendliness software.

Here are the rooms I'm interested in mostly:

bet365, Poker Heaven, Everest, Ladbrokes, Paddy, Mansion, Betfred.

These are the rooms I am also eligible for FDB.

If it makes sense for me I will consider William Hill and Titan without FDB since the Gemstone promo could bump RB a bit.

Oh, when it comes to RB I'm interested in % but also raw $ works since it's not a long term plan atm.

Party is out of the question because of non-tracked account and bad VIP system for a temp playing time.

Hello, I play nl50 mostly 6-8 tabling at everest poker. About 4 hours everyday shorthanded. I am looking for a new site that have the same amount of bad players but better traffic and rakeback. Not pokerstars. Thanks!

Needs to be on a site which will maximise return in a 6 month period (therefore stars SN is out of the question)

Sorry for the somewhat delayed answer over the holidays.

In your case I would not suggest William Hill, as you indicate you dont like Titan Poker, which is on the same network and thus also has similar software.

If think the best choice for you would be either PartyPoker or PokerStars.

On both rooms you will find enough traffic on your limits. PartyPoker might be a bit more attractive because we have a lot of exclusive promotions at PartyPoker, like freerolls or our Go4Gold-promotion we had recently

With PokerStars you'll get a 100% bonus up to $600 and you have 6 months time to clear this bonus.

With PartyPoker you'll get a bonus of 100% up to $500, for which you have 120 days time to clear it. The bonus is paid out in steps of 10% of the total bonus.

Sorry for the late answer on your request,

If you're looking for a room outside 888poker one of the Ongame rooms might be interesting to check out. On EuroPoker or Betfair you can still clear the first deposit bonus.

With your playing volume and a possible move to NL10, you're also coming close to compete in our $50K Ongame Rake Race. For this you need to rake approximately $600 per month.

Staying at 888poker until you can move up to NL10 would be a good option though, as it will make clearing the first deposit bonus easier.

You could also move to iPoker, Poker770 or William Hill for example. Long term the VIP-system there will give you a better return then on Ongame, although the tables might be a little less fishy as soon as you start moving up. (Nothing too bad though )

Hey Ulairiii,

From your post on the forum I assume you mainly play Sit&Go's?

Both options are more or less comparable. If you reach your 200K VPP goal this reflects about $3K rake per month. With this amount your "rakeback" value at for example Betfair would be approximately 38% be it with the first deposit bonus or the VIP-system, because you will also profit from our $50K Ongame Rake race, where it will be even more if you reach the top20 in the race.

The 200K VPP on PokerStars will give you between 37-40% in rakeback.

So in that regard both are the same. Both have their pro's and con's. On PokerStars it'll be very easy to get enough traffic on all limits (not sure which limit you play yourself at the moment). However the average playerlevel will be higher decreasing your ROI. The downside is that you are less flexible. If for some reason you dont reach to 200K VPP's (or miss even Super Nova), you'll lose a lot of value.

On Ongame, you'll usually find good traffic, although the software is worse when mass-multitabling. The big advantage here is that you are more flexible and will always profit from our race race. Even if you volume would drop a bit, the approximate rakeback will still be around the same level. In this case you are not as commited as you would be on Stars.

Hope this helps you a bit in making your choice for 2012!

Sorry for the late answer.

In your case I would choose for one of the iPokerrooms because you will find enough traffic for your PLO game there, which on Poker Heaven of Everest is somewhat harder.

It depends a little on what you want yourself. If you really want to look short term, playing the first deposit bonusses on for example PaddyPower or Betfred is definitely interesting.

However with the extra $150 bonus for the gemstone promotion in january and february, William Hill is attractive as well. If you choose to play here, you still leave your options open and can still decide to continue with the gemstone promotion after february without penalty. If you continue then, this will be the best option. The first deposit bonusses wont walk away ♠_cool:

However if you already made up your mind and for whatever reason will definitely not continue with the gemstone promo, then clearing the FBD's is the better choice.

Hey cozacu,

William Hill or Poker770 will be good pokerrooms for you. There is enough traffic and you can participate in our regular promotions we offer on these rooms, where you can get an extra boost on top of their VIP-system.

You could also choose 888poker. The VIP-system might give you a little bit less in rewards on the long run, but then the tables are also fishier which will increase your winrate (which is always nice ♠_cool: ).

Hey ProfiNub,

If you also regularly play SnG's with a buy-in of less then $1, Everest Poker is a good room to play as they offer micro SnG's with low rake on the <$1 level and very weak players.

If you're planning to move up in stakes soon however, I would suggest to play on EuroPoker or bwin. You'll find enough games to move through the limits until you reach the higher midstakes games.
