Nk2 clearly means "no kidding 2". As in "No kidding, the big blind really is only 2 cents."
All bad puns aside, I guess NL200 is the more important limit for a poker room from an economic perspective. While it is true that NL2 serves as an introduction for new customers and there are also far more players at this limit, the income from rake simply is much higher at limits like NL200, so NL2 seems to be more like a means to an end.
It could be argued that you need NL2 in order to be able to even offer NL200, since only a handful of poker veterans or passionate gamblers with a lot of money to spare would start at NL200 right away. But then again, I don't think there are that many NL2 players who are really able - or even willing - to climb up all the way through the limits.
