Don't put pressure on yourself though. Say you come home from college all excited to play cards with a new enthusiasm and then you don't get any hands in 6 table revs, then you get pocket KK and lose all your chips to AA (I hope that doesn't happen :)) don't be like AAAAAAGGGGHHH I waited for an hour for that hand and then all my chips have gone.

Take a break and read a poker theory book and absorb thatandwhen you feel good go back to it.

Just play tight. Top 15 hands (AA-22 and AK and AQ) to start. Raise with AA-88 and call with 77-22 trying to flop a set. you miss just fold. You hit practise making as big bets as poss. whilst keeping them tempting to call for the villains. Forget your bad beats..... extraction is the name of the game... that's the art in my opinion ;)

I quite like that, Webbybear!

Sometimes you're card dead, and when you are, the only thing you can do is practise being card dead. The first time you raise after 6 or so orbits of folding, you are going to get a chorus of folds. Such is life. Well, such is poker, anyway.

If you are so card dead that you feel you must fold 6 buttons in a row, you could be at the wrong table. Take a break, find another one.

Best of luck,

Running bad sucks indeed :) I got Set over set two times in about 5 minutes a week ago :P Today i had a lol session aswell i flopped quads rivered a gutshot straightflush but i still ran horribly for the rest of the session and didnt get paid of with those made hands.

Poker can be a real cruel game. If you feel you like run pretty bad just take a break for a week review your game and take a fresh start a week later :)

Good luck
