Yesterday had a few bad beats at SnG so I quited for that night,today I'm trying it againt hoping things gonna be okay and a few wins at SnGs would be nice... ♠_grin:

congratulations on what your accomplishing but, how is it your still bronze status if your up to 240 dollars , unless your playing outside your limits and just running good.

For this challenge, I am not playing on a PS site (I mentioned this in an earlier post). I used to be gold! But I really like the software of this particular site that I am playing on right now. As far as playing outside my limits, the whole point of this was to improve my play by playing inside strict limits. I got tired of running good, running bad etc and reloading all the time.
If you think I am lying, well, that's a lot of my time wasted on a lie! Is there a way that I can prove to you that what I am saying I'm doing? If there is, and it does not reveal my playing identity, I will be happy to do whatever you want.
It is possible that sometimes, just sometimes, even in this day and age, people do mean what they say and still believe in telling the truth.

and this is due to playing SNGs...
you don't earn much sp points than you get from ring i guess.
if you play 1 $5 sng at a time you only earn 1 Sp points in like 1-1.5 hours.
and for me i was silver than drops

Can't seem to win a showdown, make a good decision, catch a break, have a favourite hand hold up, or even press the right buttons. Buying in for $5 once again until $200... If I make it there!
I read Carl "the dean" Sampson's blog. He is doing the same challenge only he is going to $10,000 obviously because he is a pro. He has been at it for months. In some blogs he talks about how down he feels sometimes because of how hard it is to do.
Now I don't feel so bad.
On second thought, no, I still feel bad.
This particular stretch feel particularly bad because of how good I thought I was playing recently. Now, it seems everyone can see right through me.

Grinded back to $200... Thinking about taking a break for a day or two... The cards are starting to blur into one another!
Also thinking that maybe I play better with a half stack. Or perhaps I play more careful... I feel that with a small stack I can call when I have a good hand without fearing a reraise bluff... Sometimes I feel the big stack is more of a target... Or maybe I "FEEL" too much... Ahh, the psychology of it all!

understood you, dude! - I went dowwn from $42 to $10, right now my BR=$21.
Studied psychology for last 7 days, and still keep doin' it because of the downswing, but mostly to improve my game, of course.
I had likely situation as you do - when I had a smaller stack I started concentrate 5x more than did before - become a lot more like hungry shark.
Now, when I sit at the table I say to my self that I have to be as same hungry as I do at having small stack or at bubble time. So from the really first hand I just do it without any fears.

.... Here is the arrogance. All these people limped first, then called a pre flop raise. What I thought they had were either weak suited aces or small pairs lower than mine. So on a board like that, the likely hood that I have the best hand is not that high. But I was pissed off. I did not listen to my instincts.

Much like the HUD, I think I need to rethink the rakeback part of my little challenge. I looked on my tracker and the amount of rake that I have generated is almost as much as my roll.
I know I said that I wanted to be rewarded for good play, not lots of play, (and I still do) but I cannot ignore the amount of money I'm missing out on. Its as if someone is handing me money, and I'm saying no.
That's stupid.
Sooo... I am going to move sites, transfer my roll, and get rakeback on a PS site.
Bad beats of the day...
I was in a $200 freeroll, out of 4000+, there were 200 left and I was is 20th place. A maniac had just shoved with 69 preflop against another guys kings and flopped a straight. The very next hand, he shoved preflop again, I had AJ, I knew he had nothing, so I called. He had 46. He flopped two pair.
I know, I shouldn't have shoved, but I felt it was a good gamble that would have me in first.

So now I'm back to FT. I had forgotten how nice Rush was! I think, overall, that maybe FT is tighter than the other site I played. My Non-Showdown Winnings on the other site was never above 0 whereas after a couple of thousand hands of FT it is above zero. I think it may not be so much a FT thing as a Rush thing. Overall, I think Rush is tight and people are more apt to fold instead of gamble recklessly because the next hand is half a second away.

I had a great night. Again, the HUD really helps in ring games (I haven't found it as useful in Rush, but I think I need some time to build the data before I can really judge). It is very easy to quickly identify who the bad players are (well, worse than me!). I had an especially satisfying stack win against this one guy who was 82 VPIP. He caught some cards early so I guess he got cocky. Then, he made several all-ins (bluffs? I think so...) that no one called. So I used his betting patterns against him when I caught a monster. I isolated him, let him pot commit himself, then came the expected semi bluff all in from him and then the fish was in the cooler.
I hate to sound all cocky, I'm really trying not to, but it is just that I spent quite a bit of time trying to nail this guy before someone else did! It was a plan that went right... So that success feels very good.
Also, you may want to try playing on another site for a while to see if you can end this downswing. It would be fun to try something new. I know that I feel refreshed after I switched.

well I played in party poker before but i didnt like it specially blinds really go up FAST!! specially micro stake sngs..
and I stick to fulltilt due to rake back, it really helps..

But you know, for the most part the change of scene, and especially the VARIETY and OPTIONS that I have now that I am not playing on such a small site is refreshing. I am playing my A game for the most part and feeling pretty good. I've even had some SNG success!

I use Hold Em Manager. But I think they all do pretty much the same thing. If you move up in PS rank you can get the PS one.

The symptoms of FT-itis are...
1) Eyes aches because they are constantly being rolled
2) Hand aches because they are constantly being pounded
3) Head aches because it is constantly being banged on the wall
4) Brain aches from trying to figure out what player x was thinking
and of course...
5) Getting sucked out on the river at least 5 times in a session
After today, I think I am fortunate to be at $235. But, again, anyone can win when the cards are good. Can I stay afloat when the cards are bad? A good player can... Let's see if I'm that player. In the past I would make the bad run worse by getting emotional, no, letting my emotions run my play. I don't think that will happen now.
