Ship it!! Gogogogogo guys and girly!
DanielK just won a big pot and is now on 135k after being all-in for his tournament life for the first time.
I'll get the full details when we go on break again but what I know is that the money went in on the turn of a K
J
X
X
board.
With 135,000 in the middle, DanielK was behind with J :heart:J
against A :spade:T
and a big crowd was gathered around the table. The river was a beautiful K
to fill up DanielK and give him the pot.
While I should maintain impartiality as a journalist I think my scream might have been louder than Daniel's when the river hit
His opponent was left with around 40k behind but has stormed away from the table in disgust - he is not a happy man.
Daniel has almost 2x average at this point with 94 players remaining.

Tsahahahahahh!

Yulia also has over 100,000 but neither I nor her rail are quite sure how it happened at this point.
Blinds go up to 1,200/2,400/300 in a few minutes. With 91 players remaining the average stack is around 81,000.
I'll get some more pictures of our guys with big stacks as well as some more members and staff playing the side events. Hopefully I can grab DanielK and Yulia on the dinner break too and get some short statements from them about their Day 2.

And pleno?
The Everest Cup is a little harder to rail, but I'll check up on him throughout the evening.

Devastated to report a horrible hand for Patrick. He raised CO with AA and a splashy player (the same who called DanielK's 3-bet OOP with K9) calls 66 in the small blind.
The flop fell Ax6x6x and villain donk bets the flop which he had been doing all the time. The turn was a 2 and it checks through. The river comes Q for a A662Q board and villain leads 5,400 into around 13,000.
Patrick makes it 23,800 and his opponent tanks for 4 minutes before putting another 24,000 on top. Patrick, to his credit, just flats with 10k effective stacks behind and is shown the bad news - his opponent has 66 for flopped quads.
Patrick then busted his last 20~ big blinds in a blind v. blind battle.
So sick, DanielK is still alive as is Yulia.
Ouch Pleno, was cheering for you!
I laughed my ass off on this now ♦ The "splashy player" is a hungarian celeb guy (was on tv in some BigBrother type of show) and is/was an Everest Sponsored Pro. His wife is a playmate, worth to spot
but yeah, the rest no comment
Hehe yeah I know, I found out he is well-known in HU. From what I saw he was... well, splashing around ♦
@Ingrid: saw Patrick in Everest Cup. He was raising and taking down a pot without showdown, obv. It looks like he has a decent clip more than the 15k starting stack.
Lukas (pokermachy) is up to 26k there.
Thanks Matt:) and I think I wrote about the splashy guy "majka" earlier as well. My best friend is visiting and he said that Majka was sitting front of him on the flight. I thought he would flew in for this tourney.
Players are now on an hour dinner break.
With 75 remaining the average stack is 100,000.
Players are resuming play now with blinds of 1,500/3,000/300 and 74 players remaining.
The average stack is 101,000.
DanielK is crushing with 190,000. Yulia looks to be nicely above-average also, but it's a little harder to get an exact count of her stack.

+1 fun read!
I grabbed two of the shortest statements in the world from our guys between buffet rounds.
MJPerry: Patrick, what happened in the Everest tournament?
pleno1: Spew.
===================================================
DanielK: I only decided to play this tournament randomly, so after getting the cash I took a taxi down to Marbella [from Gibraltar] but I couldn't get into the casino because I was wearing shorts. So, I had to borrow a pair of trousers from the hotel but they looked super-ridiculous.
So before the PartyPoker and PokerStrategy parties I borrowed those jeans from [MJPerry] and wore them out. Now they have become the lucky trousers!
As for the tournament, I've got a nice soft table and had one big suckout [the JJ v. ATss hand] but I'm chipping up nicely and have only been all-in twice.

DK with his 2x average stack.
DanielK just busted a player to increase his stack to 230,000 or so.
Blinds are as I type increasing to 2,000/4,000/500 and there will be a colour up in the next few minutes.
In the hand in question,
DanielK raised UTG to 7,200 holding 8 :heart:8
The small blind moved in for around 50,000 holding A :club:Q
and the flop provided one hell of a sweat as it fell J :club:T :spade:9
The 3
turn put our boy back in the lead and a 7
on the river sealed the deal.
We are now down to 60 players.
We're resuming now for the last level of the night.
Daniel has 225,000 and Yulia has 90,000.

The televised final table awaits!
