FL 0.02/0.04 - Check/call with straight when the board pairs on river - Super nit or standard?

would you have donked the river if you were him? or check/raised?

i like every decision BB made in this hand. so i guess if he's a nit then so am i.
let's do hand reading for a sec here. you were UTG and capped preflop, raised the flop, and raise/capped turn. i mean perhaps you have AA or JT sometimes (if you overplayed your hand slightly), but your most likely value hands are KQ, 99, TT and JJ. he doesn't have a good valuebet/raise against your range.

well played hand. regarding him. I like his play. when the 9 hits he definitely gets scared that you have a set turned fh(with good reason considering your action). completely standard turn and river play. his flop play I don't agree with but each to his own.

Hand reading is the key as our red squirrel points out.
I put him on T9 when reading your HH and question. [This would make his river decision more interesting.] Then 4 combos beat him OTR (TT + 3*JJ) and two T9 splits. He beats KQ (16 combos) and 44, but do you cap with many of these last examples preflop? T9 on his part makes it close since there are those with a wide capping range. But are 30-35% of the population capping KQ as required for a value bet? I think T9 is close to a check-call too after this action.

An intricate detail in hand reading (back to KQ in his hand again): Suppose the BB might think you are likely to cap KQs, but not KQo (not entirely unreasonable). Then the fact that he has KQo leaves only two combos against which he splits. The rest you win with (you don't have 78s or Q8 because of the action).

so in short , you think hes a nit or tight. right ? What you fail to see is from his side LOOKING at you. what hands do you have and what action did you give. What if you had his hand he had his hand ? Would you not think that your opponent might have a full house by the river. that his opponents action indicate that he at the very least has a set now turned full house. sure we can do this with KQ but on the river. if you raise/cap then its slightly overplayed hand.

In FL hand reading is so important well in all sorts of poker but in FL you really gotta think hard what can he be doing this and that with. and act accordingly. Its the same as in NL i guess. KK vs AA sort of scenario. Kxx board and the KK guy moves all in. sure you have to call with AA but do you feel comfortable ? I wouldn't.

also put a note on him saying that he can donk/3bet a gutshot+backdoor fd K high in a capped pot.
