Pocketpairs again huh?

They're overpairs, so raise on the flop, if he checks to you on the turn -> Bet, if he bets out -> call down depending on your read of how solid his play is.

Note he stops betting on the river, my guess would be he thinks the board is tough to hit for a preflopraiser with overcards and wants to bet you out of the hand.

Either raise flop or raise turn.

You have to raise on the flop for protection. Any J Q K or A could be bad news for you hand. If he reraises the flop call it and raise the turn again if it is a blank, if it is not a blank call him down

raise flop to protect against straight draws and possible overcards

A raise flop does not protect your hand, an A K Q or J will not fold in most cases. The question is what brings in the most money, a raise flop bet turn or call flop raise turn I would go for the latter.

Edit: It is 5c/10c so mayb the first is better. Standard play for 5c/10c would be raise flop!

Actually shy, you're correct, with already a bet in, most microlimit players holding an overcard won't likely fold to a flop raise, but it will probably give us initiative and increase our fold equity. If a card falls on the turn that doesn't help him he'll likely check to us and fold to a bet.

Generally a raise flop -> bet turn works better for protection while a call flop -> raise turn works better for value.

TT is a very marginal hand. Every overcard is scary for you. On this level Utg could have limped with every kind of overcards. Maybe you can raise the turn, but if he calls the raise on the turn, i would do check behind on the river depending the card.
I dont believe that raise turn is for value. For me would be raise turn for free showdown.

I would still raise the flop for protection.

raise flop for "value"

you dont want that he play check call turn/river and you earn a sb less
,,, if you want raise turn and the turn is a A ore K ore Q than he fold often slow pockets and you win less,,, you get here more value from raise flop bet turn in the long run ( if you raise flop he also often things you have ak,aq,aj and he calls down his 6 ore middle pocket )
sorry for my bad english ;)

Thank you, tonight I was betting more often for value and it really worked out for the most times...

Hi!

One thing is certain, you have to play it more agressive since you just have too much value with your overpair.

Now,standard would be to go for the typical line with good hand IP,that is to play call flop/raise but we can go into more detail about whether to raise flop or turn and it is mostly player(read) dependant.

If he likes to donk weak made hands(Ahigh, low pockets,...) but is generally not a very SD bound fish then I like flop raise more since he will never fold it as he will see you flop IP raise quite weak and will at least call you.

When he likes to donk a lot of crap even on boards where he should know that he has close to 0 FE I like waiting for turn to raise since you dont want him to fold and this would actually be my default against unknown and would go for this.
When turn comes a bad card(like an A; maybe just maybe K and Q/J are just blanks) you can just call him down since it kinda decreases your equity but on the other hand improve bluff induction value as they will like that high card to bluff again.
