I like the preflop play.
I think a bigger flop bet is needed to protect against the flush draw. Maybe $0.45 or $0.50.
Same goes for turn. As played on flop, the turn could be more like $1.10 or so.

As played, Good fold on the river.

Thinking about the river now, If you're going to spend $1.50 either way, then check/calling a bet of that size costs you the same as bet/folding. Also, you might actually catch a bluff or worse hand, though I wouldn't count on it all the time, the number of times (%) might be often enough.

You can always answer your question about how to play the river by "do you think he pays you with worse hands? What kind of hands are calling you on the flop & turn? We of course may assume that huge portion of his calling range is going to be FDs, so have to watch out. Cause if he bets he ain't bluffing there anyways.

As veriz said, this depends on the range you give him - is he playing draws passively and made hands aggressive, then you got it in badly:

but there are also villains who play hands like 97, Q9 ...even Q7 or any other queen - or who call down JJ or TT (tough unlikely). Then your odds of winning are much better.

What I can guarantee you is that check/calling will be the worst option. Why should he bet QT after you check to him? A flushdraw arived, a overcard came - so in prinziple a lot of better hands will bet, a lot of the worse hands will check behind. In theory vs oponents who like to represent those hands we could have an exception. However I can not just blindly assume this.

There are a fair few hands that may pay off a bet, but would never bet themselves that you get value from by betting, but as noted above its only profitable if you think that is enough of his range.

Typically against an unknown I will play b/f, but that is just my 'stye' on the lower stakes, the villian usually calls wider that you would expect.
