Hi,
would you call? The point is, villain is probably never having bluffs there?

4x river raise and you hold the weak flush....fold.

isn't the preflop open a bit too wide?

Nah, preflop open is ok. The problem is on the river and I also think it´s more fold than call.

Preflop open may not be good if the shortstack SB is active and aggressive.

3rd nut backdoor flush weak?

You beat a bunch of his value bets, clear call.

I am terribly sorry but I couldn't lay down this hand either. With your 3 barrels, chances are high that villain doesn't put you on a flush here. I'd call here, no contest.

If you want to start nit-folding strong hands because 'opponent will not ever bluff', start with hands that dont block villain's strong hands like sets, two pairs. Not strong hands that will beat even valuebets and block none of the possible bluffs.

Don't you think that 2p and sets will raise earlier in the hand?
4× river raise is big and for value. What value can be there?

I didnt say he is raising 2-pairs or sets. I said if yourself have them, easier folds as you dont block straights, flushes.

This is nl5, he could be raising smaller flushes, even straights for value as BD flush is rare.

And I certainly dont think he is raising only for value and never bluffing. And we block none of bluffs, missed hearts, missed straights.

If you fold this, opponent can check-raise absolutely everything otr +ev. 67r, bare top pair, any pair, no pair, as you only call with nuts (why would you call K-flush if not Q-flush?)

Villain is raising us AI and you think he is bluffing...
I cannot agree here.

Well what, you gonna min-raise with your bluffs? He needs to raise somewhat bigger, and it would leave awkwardly so little behind that it just looks bluffy (which is bad when you're actually bluffing, wouldn't you think?)

He could and should be balanced towards value with this risk-reward ratio, but even in NL5 I wouldn't think someone is so bad that he is just uncapable of having any bluffs in a given situation.

It is very rare to bluff push river on nl5, you know. I am more inclined to believe him and to fold.

Why wouldn´t you cbet the flop? We have backdoor FD, backdoor straight draw and also this flop quite hits our range, right?

I don't know :) I fell like when I raise my perceived range is made of big cards. So usually I cbet when there is one or 2 face cards on the flop. I do 60% pot when it's dry and 75% when drawy. I don't cbet much but I have quite high success rate

I think this is just faulty thought process. I gave you my resoning why it's a clear call, if you want to make sick exploitative hero-fold based on assumption how ppl play on NL5, fine.

But it's still a call, as he can be valueraising bunch of worse flushes that got there. I would say sizing, pushing, about a pot sized raise, is totally normal here (for bluff/value). We're also only 100bb deep.

Why would he raise weaker flushes? I do not get it...

I wouldn't bet flop although it's not the worst flop to cbet. Your backdoor draws are weak and we don't want to play for a big pot. I would go for a delayed cbet.

As played, the river is a clear fold. He check called two streets then check raises us. This is an extremely rare line and represents a very strong range.
Despite making our flush, folding is the correct play.

I wouldn't overthink it, it doesn't happen often.

Sorry, cannot answer in suitable one-liner.

Because it's a strong, unlikely made hand in heads-up pot BB vs BTN? Because there is only couple of hands that will beat even medium flushes, making it a candidate for a value-raise? Because it's not like in omaha, where he only has nutflush or nothing here? Because it's not tight range against tight range, but wide range against wide? Because it's not super-deep but only for 100bb and he has one-pot sized bet behind? Because it's NL5 and he could've really anything?

I don't think we have much more to discuss here, your opinion is that opponent cannot bluff with anything and will not any worse, what I'm to say otherwise then?

But if this topponent sometime in his poker career realizes that he should not only find some bluffs when he can actually bluff out strong hands, but be completely out of line and grossly overbluff against some players in some spots, he will move up stakes. Hopefully that day never comes :f_drink:
