I think there is a definite sizing problem here. This guy is obviously a fish and you're missing a lot of value preflop and by 1/2 potting on flop.

Let's make it 10bb preflop. 40/7 don't raise often, and likes to see flops. He has decent hand, you are getting called basically always here.

Probably he isn't folding AQ etc to 1 bet so I'd go big on the flop.

Turn card is not great but I probably still value bet on the larger side still (and fold to turn raise)

River I am going "goddamn fish with 7x!" and sigh folding all day. Paid off way too many river donk jams from fish in the past.

Yeah all manner of oesd and gutters bricked but he's 40/7. Can extrapolate postflop tendencies will be similar, and he prefers to play passive. Some fish will bluff jam in these spots, but not many, and super unlikely from this guy,

What if he doesnt have a decent hand? do we in that case lose a tone of value, if he is going to fold hands as KQ, AJ, 22, 33 and similar when we bet big?
If the board is high, or at least draw heavy, then I agree about betting big, since he will have so many hands that call anyway vs big bet, but on low, dry board he has > 80% hands that are very weak.

Similar goes for preflop, If I 3bet 8bb, I can anyway get it in vs him by the river, and if I 3bet bigger, is he going to call 3bet as wide as 8bb, so do I loose value? Why not shove preflop, or lets ignore preflop, why not shove flop?
