Spoiler

$22.03 pot ($1.10 rake)
Final Board: J 5 A Q 2
Hero showed 5 5 and lost (-$10.99 net)
CO showed A A and won $20.93 ($9.94 net)

My thinking during the hand was that the reg would be very aggro on the flop and turn given the number of 2 pairs and combo draws out there so i was pretty happy to get the money in.

I am interested to know what others think and whether i should be finding a fold on the turn?

Your flop raise size is quite big. On the flop you could bet bigger. Imo you can call villains shove since he has many 2pair hands and some strong draws.

Flop raise is big, cause he wsnts to stack villain.
It is ok by me.

I would NEVER call small pocket pairs in blinds. Better 3bet or fold. Here i always pref to 3bet > CB most of the flops.

With 3 bet we thin the field to hands that can pay us out when we hit postflop. But 55 is the border hand. It can go both ways.
Not a big mistake to call.

I would always call all pocket pairs from BB. We get very good price to set mine. This is completely standard and I wouldn't say 3bet or fold is better. SB is different.

given the action - not too many to pairs.
I think AJ likely 3bets flop. So what is left - AQ and A5s if it calls flop raise instead of 3bet.

But on the other hand - I do not see straight here when he calls the flop raise. Asusming he is not fish. Ok maybe 1 combo of straight - KhTh - with the flush draw.

So we should do good here.

Villains line is interesting. I did not expect. Maybe it makes sense to keep bluffs in heros range. Hero is probably having hand like set or very not likely to hit bluff raise, like GS or bdfd.

I am not sure - does players in hero shoes often raise FDs? ANd evne if it does - the FDs vs set do not have that many outs.
So this is really interesting.

ANd if it makes sense for him to have sets, then need to put to equilab those sets and 2 pairs and see the equity

On the other hand - con of not 3beting set when you are CO - when flush hits on turn, you lose value vs AJ . But maybe AJ is the only hand which is too rare, because A5s at least at these limits is not flatting often preflop.
And also if you have AA, you might loose value vs JJ or 55.
So maybe 55 might make sense to call, and maybe JJ but not AA in the CO shoes.

even IF he has the nuts, we have 11 outs on the river.

Doesn't matter much. Yes sets have good equity against straights and flushes but what if villain has JJ,QQ or AA? Then we suddenly have only 1 out. We need around 30% equity to call. When we are deciding if we can call or not, thinking that we have 11 outs vs nuts doesn't lead us anywhere. We have to put villain on a range and then figure out how much equity we have. In this case we can not call vs nuts even when we have 11 outs. But if villains range is ( AA,QQ-JJ,AQs-AJs,KTs,KhQh,AsTs,9h8h,9s8s,AQo-AJo,KTo ) we have almost 50% equity and we can call.

PF aside, I think you played postflop well. There are enough 2 pairs to commit (AJ/AQ/and combo draws such as hearts or spades).

la55i's range is pretty good above. I would take out 9s8s but the other hands look very realistic.

9s8s definitely are not cbetting this flop that often. Seems really reasonable removing it when analyzing.

If villain was in EP we could put him on a tight value range. CO we have to ascertain if he is stealing or value betting. Maybe 3betting this could help us ascertain that and the flop would give out his hand.

The thing is that this board hits well the range of call from bb (full of broadways), so doesnt make much sense cbeting 89 w just a bdfd in this situation.

All standard. We could definitelly bet the turn bigger because we need quite protection and also want to get value vs TPTK, two pairs and flushdraws, but it's fine, overall.

If you don't go broke, you are too tight to ever win a big pot.
