villain plays 26/23. has steal from button of 55% and fold to resteal 47%. 4bet range 4.8%.

what is the best line to take postflop vs him? is it actually better to call KJo preflop?

Hi,

I think you can 3-bet for value that spot. There shouldn´t be too many dominated hands that he may call pf and playing oop isn´t the best without initiative.

Postflop I would prefer b/c to 6$. Very likely you can make him fold his marginal hands and with oesd+overcard you have too much equity to just c/f. With showdown value, like AT you can consider c/c, but wiyth K high I would prefer putting maximum pressure to the player.

Best regards,

Hi,

thank you for the answer. I don't understand this phrase:

Postflop I would prefer b/c to 6$

on flop the pot is 5.1$. Do you suggest to bet 6$ into that pot?

Meant b/c turn. This way you leave nice potsize to shove river.

why do you think I cann call turn after bet 6$?

If he shoves I will have pot odds of about 13/50 = 26%

with my openender I have just about 16. so it's a minus EV call, isn't it?

If we think about the hand villain opens 55% and folds to resteal 47%, so his continuing with 28% of which his 4betting ~5%. If his 4betting a merged range, we can discount TT+, AQs+, KQs, AQo+ when he calls preflop. So he calls ~24% which is still very wide IMHO.
On the flop, it would be good to know his fold to cbet, raise cbet stats in 3bet pots so we can narrow down his continuing range more. I assumed, he continues with all his TP+, bunch of Fd's, +backdoor Fd's +pair and even some gutshots.
On the turn I gave villain a range like 44,KTs,QTs,AsJs,AcJc,KsJs,KcJc,QcJc,Kc9c,Qc9c,Js9s,Jc9c,7s6s,As5s,Ac4c,KQo,QJo that he might shove, against this we have ~27%, so bet call should be valid.

TT+, AQs+, KQs, AQo+

well, this is indeed a 5% range, but I seriously doubt that he will have no bluffs (meaning trash like K2s) in his range.

but that doesn't matter much. let me put it a bit differently. you're saying that we have about 27% vs his range. so it doesn't really matter whether we fold or call. then folding is better, isn't it? at least because it's less dispersive.

Im a bit to lazy to play with the equilab now, but on the turn you have ~27% against his shoving range, but when you bet, villain also folds a bunch so you have some good fold equity. Both equitys combined make the turn bet profitable.

that is correct. I'm just saying that turn bet/fold is better the bet/call.

we can bet bigger, like 9$ instead of 6$ advised by Kaitz20, than it's a clear bet/call. but if we bet 6$, then fold vs raise is better, isn't it?

I think that we have to decide on the turn if we´re either b/c or b/f.
With oesd+overcard we can´t really imo b/f, so I would either b/c or some really aggro opponents c/rai that spot.
So now it comes to the sizing: with 9$ we have easy b/c, but I try to bet smaller to leave bigger fold equity on the river. Also I don´t then feel pot committed to shove any river card.

Best regards,
