Flop call is fine.

Turn is now pretty close because no guarantee villain double-barrels overs and he can still have all sets and overpairs.

River generally a straightforward fold.

As for your question we could consider raise/folding flop an an alternative line, I think flatting may just be best here though.

Can you rephrase? I don't understand the question.

You say we call flop but fold to a second barrel, thus we're hoping for him to check the turn and bet it ourselves? That's floating, right?

Yeah, that's one definition of it. But it's still floating even if we don't bet the turn.

Also given that we have an overpair on flop that may be good a decent amount it's probably referred to as a float play less often since we are just calling for value. Floating has an implication of a bluff-call or light call.

Also it does depend on turn card, we are not folding on a 9 or 6 of T for example.
