Since you're up against spewies, I would guess a set. AA possible, but wouldn't that raise pre?
So many outs to the straight, but none to a flush, and higher even less likely. Besides the straight outs, you have blockers for all the overpairs. So you're looking at a set — or perhaps a similar broadway rundown type holding — in which case you get half the pot.

Spots like this are why I find PLO so tough.

To me this seems an easy spot. As there is so little in the pot preflop, you need about 33% to stack off here (well there is an option to just call and hope Pesles calls/folds, and hero fold turn if it pairs). 13 nutouts, but if one of them has a set and other one has sets, 2 pairs and QJ/J8 based hands, you have a bit less than 33%.

Even if they are spewing, mostly you need to hit the straight to win. It's a situation where in the best case scenario it's breakeven and in the worst case scenario you have less than 25%. Seems like an easy fold to me.

I did call and player behind called. Turn was Qc which I shoved and both of them called. Pesles had AJ98cc and Kristof T953. So yeah in this case I had 40% on flop (if I remember right) but this was also one of absolute best cases. Once we are vs QJ+ and two pair+ equity starts to plummet massively.
