2 folds, Button raises to t1990 (All-In), 1 fold, Hero calls t1590

Flop: (t4305) J, Q, 2 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t4305) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t4305) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: t4305

Results in white below:
Button had K, Q (two pair, Queens and fives).
Hero had 10, A (one pair, fives).
Outcome: Button won t4305

Is this a good call?

This is a MTT tournament with top 6 getting a ticket as first price.

In this spot I was 6-8position in chip stack with around 10-12players left.
I thought about the call for a moment and made it.

Villain seems not to be loose but still is shortstacked.

I lost the pot and after this hand I was crippled and the blind levels soon went up which makes me believe I made mistake calling his shove.

I almost got blinded away and miraculously went from being nr 10 with 185chips to get into money which was kind of sick.

you need to put the short stack on range and should have load of information about him & his ranges

put him on top 10% of starting hands then he is around 55% to win & top 20% 45$

he has 5BB so his range can be pretty wide so easy call & at least youre not bust if he wins

I don't even know anything about % ranges and how these are understood/calculated.

I know that usually in this spot the shortstack starts to get desperate so they usually could be pushing A5+ maybe even worst Ax.

K9+ should be also what they push imo.

I don't really have any tells on short stack although he seemed maybe conservative usually most ppl get desperate at these low chips.

Hi all,

As a general rule if we are in the BB and anyone we don't have reads as being a nit from late position shoves, I'm very happy to call this hand. So nice hand well played, unlucky.
