we would not want to bet the turn coz we a not afraid of many cards expect Aces and some random 7s or Tens, right? Or we don't get much implied equity otr and we don't want to let him see a free card?

I would most likely Cbet the flop for value against most likely a passive player.
As played the turn is for me a value bet as well. He could easy call with worse hands here after your check on the flop.

But why would he call otf with only a high card when there is no side pot yet? Is it more likely that he calls ott if check the flop and value bet the turn than we cbet the flop?
