Welcome!
Hi folks,
Im Richie and from wolverhampton originally, (hence the wolf ♦) but live in Birmingham now.
I have been playing poker for several years now, mainly with friends or workmates.
More recently I have started to play online, but held off for ages because no matter what these sites say about random number generators you aren't gonna convince as a maths graduate that they can ever be truly random!
However I have realised that its the same for everyone, and there are plenty of fishes to go round online! So even with the sickest of suckouts, as seems to happen all to often online, u can still be building the bankroll! ♦
So I found poker strategy a few months back and although i aint got the time to play as much as some, I have taken my $50 upto over $200 on party, with new player freerolls, FL and NL micro stakes.
Once I get through the exams I am studying for in November, on top of 9-5 work, I am gonna have elephant license and more time, so watch out u fishes the wolfbass is coming! LOL
By the way Bulldog sorry for arriving late to ur thread, better late than never!
Regards,
Richie

Hi Bulldog,
I enjoyed my first BOD, could have done with hanging in for another half hour or so to make the money but I had pocket Kings with 3.5BBs left in me stack, what can u do? ♦
Hope to c ya around,
Richie
@ Richie - I was pretty much card dead throughout really. I finally got a decent pair of 10's and went all-in for 1200 or so on the button for a steal-raise and got called by A-3. They hit the ace on the river.
What can ya do? ♦
Heh, i didn't know this place exhisted! I'm from Hertfordshire! Born in London but i spend almost half my year in switzerland skiing, instructing and partying.
Been playing since mid junish and have just discovered the joys of playing on friday night! Players with otherwise solid stats pushing ridiculous cards at you. First time i havn't been drinking on Friday night myself since i started!
Hi ya DaPhunk, hows it going geezer.
Glad you finally found the thread and the warmest of welcomes.
Hey guys, originally from the lovely land of the sheep between England and Ireland. I've lived in Manchester now for about 3 years. Hope to see you all at the tables!
Hi all xxbchxx here born in lambeth residing in the south east now.
A regular tour just for us sounds lovely jubly...lol
get it done .....save my seat...lol
Hi ya xxbchxx,
So you're a londoner at heart then matey boy. I was born in Islington, but grew up around bow, hackney and shorditch areas.
As for a regular tournament, i would be glad to sort something out. What does everyone else think:
What poker room would you prefer
Buy-in or Freeroll
Weekly, monthly etc.
Any prefrerred day
All replies and ideas would be greatfully recieved.
Regards,
Steve
Bart from Hampshire (born & brought up in Essex) here, recently joined.
Have already spoken with the Bulldog as he kindly welcomed me to the site the other day when I put a profile up. Warm regards to all the English (and yes even the Scot lol).
Great post Steve, lets see if we can get people from every county within our great nation (& ex pats) involved.
Re tourney, my only preference would be for a low buy in or even better a freeroll. I've set myself up within a low starting brm and want to try to stick to this for a few months before venturing up the levels. Would be happy to part with up to a couple of $, but not much more really at this stage.
Flexible on time/day etc. Currently play Titan, Blue Sq, VC, Pokerstars & Full Tilt.
Bart
Welcome once again Bart ♦
As for the tournament maybe we could organise a couple of freerolls to see how it goes but to be honest there'd need to be quite a few players interested to at least make it worthwhile otherwise we cold end up with a freeroll SNG ♦.
What stratergy have you decided to start with, SSS, SNGs etc.
Regards,
Steve
Hi fella's I just spotted this thread, and you've got another scouser in the ranks! I was born in Birkenhead and have lived pretty much all over the Wirral (okok im a plastic scouser! lol). I'm living in Sheffield now after university.
I play poker pretty much every day (and night sometimes). Ive been playing for over 4 years since I first played with a bunch of mates on a holiday in Newquay. I dont know what I did with myself before poker (oh ye I was fit and played football 5 days a week lol) I play in the free pub poker league (livepubpokerleague) a few nights a week now and have been pretty successful. Ive had a lot of success at online and live poker as well over the years, cash tables at casino's, everything online. Used to just do sng's and big tourney's online but more recently ive gone onto the cash tables.
I'll keep on the lookout for any games posted here, I'll defo be up for that.
Welcome aboard RGLFC,
Its good to see that you finally found us matey ♦.
I'm a cashgame player predominately but im starting to learn about MTT tournament strategy at the minute.
Regards,
Steve
Hi, Im originally from Birmingham but now live in the dumping ground of Merseyside "Ellesmere Port". Hope to be moving back to Brum in the near future!
Only found this site a few weeks ago by chance.. Started off with a downswing but have recently hit an upswing and am now in profit. (not counting bonuses and rakeback).
Started playing poker a few months ago on another site and have been doing quite well playing NL10 and using my own rules. Also won 4 free entries into Skys open MTT via emails and managed to cash twice and on another occassion took Richards Orfords bounty for £25.
Good luck all and may the Poker Gods be with you!
Hey there tutties,
Welcome on board geezer and congratulations on your victories so far. There are articles, videos and coachings available for whatever strategy you decide to follow and they are all worth visiting.
Regards,
steve

Cooool, would that qualify as me reaching a final table then !! lol
Thanks Steve,
Started on 6th Oct with the $50 free from here on a SSS basis on Full Tilt (0.05/0.10) buying in for $2.
Also started a similar exercise on Titan with own funding.
Currently $56.30 Full Tilt & $52.82 Titan. Slow, but improving progress ♦
The BR does fluctuate a little though doesn't it.
Still going back over the basic & bronze guides & watched a live SNG coaching session with the nose the other day which was fantastic.
Keeping it real,
Bart.
@ Bart,
I started on SSS with the $50 from here and i started on PokerStars with NL10 and my bankroll is now at $130. Make sure that you stick to the SHC 100% and dont deviate from it pre- or post-flop. At the end of the day a small profit is still a profit even more so with NL10 SSS where things can swing either way very quickly.
Don't just read the articles once but keep re-visiting them every so often until it becomes second nature as you always discover something you missed the first time around. Also try and attend the SSS coachings on Friday and Sunday as they are very informative indeed.
Also be aware that playing NL10 on Full Tilt you will end up paying 10% rake on your winnings to FTP compared to 5% on other levels.
Regards,
Steve
