Hey Steve,

I know cannell is trying to organise a tournament (see 5 posts above) for the uk members. As for people meeting up maybe its something we can look to doing, maybe once a month but i think we all live in different areas but if we can get around that i think it might be kinda cool to organise.

Hi all,

I've been a bit quiet lately with exams and then grabbing all of the Everest first deposit bonus!

Anyhow a tourny online for us PS UK chaps sounds like a great idea! Also if any live get togethers are on then I would enjoy that too

PS: Good luck at the tables!!! ;)

Richie

After taking a few months out from playing poker, I'm back and trying all over again. I like the idea of a UK members tourney, that would be fun. But my participation would only limit me to nights due to work commitments. Which isn't going to suit everyone. Oh well.

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of moving to England later this year. Could you answer few questions for me?

Are poker winnings taxable and does it make a difference whether site is licenced in ETA or not?
How much is the average rent? It obv. depends on location, but any info would help.

I know I had one more thing to ask, but I already forgot it :).

Thanks.

Hey Anssi,

Our government think poker is just another form of gambling, and that there is no skill involved. So there is no tax on any type of poker/gambling.

I live in liverpool, and my dad has 20-30 houses that he rents out. All in the Liverpool and North Wales area. You can rent decent houses for £400+ a month.

Regards,
Stiev

@Anssi, further to Stiev's reply, on the south coast of England you can generally find good accomodation for circa £500-600 per month, less if its a small 1 bed/studio.
For London, double this at least.

@zedragon, welcome my friend, good to see you. Wishing you every success & looking forward to chatting in the forums soon.

Bart.

Hey all,

Just wondered if anyone is interested in forming a new BOTD team (Team England or UK or even multi-national) with me for the coming season. I put a post in the following thread, if you interested, get in touch.

Battle of the Donkeys: English Community Teams

Sad to say that we've lost the incredible expertise of Stiev who is quite rightly staying loyal to TeamMOD.

Anyone interested, get in touch through this thread, the link above or send me a message in the community section.

Best regards,

Bart

Hey,

Maybe our own Pokerstrategy UK tourneys will be up and running before next season. Then we may be able to make a team of the best finishers in our private tourneys. I'm sure we would then kick everyones ass 10 times over.

Regards,
Stiev

Hi guys

will try to check up on this thread more often now that i am back online and playing poker again. I have been without internet for close to two months as every ISP have been passing the buck, as the previous tenant left broadband on my line and it's been a pain trying to remove it so i can get my own, hopefully it should be sorted though.

Anyway in reference to the mobile broadband question earlier, i went out and bought the o2 PAYG dongle which i am using now whilst i am waiting. Think it was £29 or thereabouts for the dongle and either £2 for 1day/500mb £7.50 1 week/1GB or £15 1month/3gb. You will use at the absolute max 100mb a day playing poker non-stop. In terms of signal i am not too impressed as i live in London (zone 2) sometimes the connection will hang/laggy but i am satisfied with it, it hasn't cost me any big pots yet over 20k hands just a few time outs.

If anyone lives near Mudchute/central London give me a shout, I play NL50SH with occasional stabs at NL100 on party, ladbrokes, ps. Been playing at NL50 for ages and never moved up due to withdrawals must have played easily 250k hands at it am a decent winner 3.5 ptbb/100 nothing spectacular though, looking to plug some of my major leaks particuarly in my post flop game which i think is weak.

Ah, so sorry m8, we are completely full now, filled up so quick. Would have been an honour to have you played alongside you.
Think there is still a spare team going somewhere though or you could beat us all from the community team :)
If we are allowed a sub at any time, your top of the list.

@csnmf, thanks for the info my friend. I kind of done nothing about it yet, but still looking around. The £2 a day for the odd weekend that I'd need it doesn't sound too bad though.

Bart

@ Bart

No need to apologise mate. I was without internet access for a few weeks while i was changing over suppliers so i didn't see the pm you sent or the thread you made till it was too late.

Wishing you and the team the best of luck Bart.

@ csnmf

Welcome back my friend and congratulations on finally sorting your internet out (hopefully ). I was without access for a few weeks and it was driving me bonkers as well.

Regards

-Steve
