Hi there,
I've been playing this game, around the start of the poker boom days (not quite Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer was my point) and I've done nothing to prove I could be a winning player on the long-term. I was lucky enough to become a writer for a poker website, but when that fizzled out I lost the passion for the game and kept away from it for a number of years.
More recently, I've dabbled in some 10NL against some mates from football and found them to be awful players. And not willing to learn to improve (I mean, bad as in an opponent checks a straight on the river after their opponent checked to them missing they had a flush. That bad) Since those games, I've been playing in another group that have some better players and I've had a good run in two heads-up series, some small tournaments and a live 50NL cash game.
I want to prove that I can win at this game from the bottom up. Placing £100 in a separate bank account, my target is £5000 to begin with. Hopefully, I can meet some like-minded individuals here that have the same aims.
I'll probably talk more in a blog and look at other posts here, but thanks for reading.
