Hello. I have been playing on and off for a couple of years. Now I have time to study these games!

Hi PokerRoulette
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com :welcome:

Be sure to check out the free money offers and bonus offers.
Read the instructions carefully -- they usually apply to rooms where you don't already have an account.

What kind of games do you normally play?
Cash Games? Sit-and-Go? MTTs?
Do you just play Hold'em or do you play any other variants?

Even though you're not totally new to poker, I recommend reading our No Limit Hold'em lessons overview articles.
That article leads you through the basics and beyond.

If you have any questions, just post them in the Q&A forum.

All the best,
VS

Hello VorpalF2F! I think I prefer cash games as I have started there. Tbh, I want to get serious about the game and learn how to make it a self-funding hobby. I don't want it to pay any bills but it's nice to make a few extra bucks. I live in LA so there are lots of games all around me all the time.
I'm looking to play a couple of 5-6 hour sessions a week. With my work and lifestyle, I feel that's all I can do on a regular basis. I also make a few trips to Vegas every year and I'm sometimes able to make the casinos in SD every once in a while when I make it down there.

"Self-funding hobby" pretty much describes how I approach it as well.
Even so, over the past several years I've paid for a few things as well.

Like half of the cost of a cruise to San Diego for example...

Cheers,
