Hi, I'm Salome,
I am super happy to be here, although my payment for a month will only last 3 days, as it was announced in a written form after I paid here. I will cherish this 3-day month forever :f_love:. Finding PokerStrategy is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I am over the moon. This website was recommended in an audiobook called "Essential Poker Math" by Alton Hardin. It's a great book because I know nothing about Poker, but a bit about math, at least algebra that I learned 40 years ago. So I am old. I don't know where the idea of learning to play poker came from but it struck me in the head a few days ago, like an epiphany and it feels all of a sudden like something I should do. I don't even like Casinos, I think I've been in Casinos maybe 3 times, that was at least over 20 years ago. I went on YouTube and looked up something about poker strategies, or something of that kind (I didn't even know what to look for, to tell the truth), and there I saw Liv Boeree give a talk about her Professional Poker career. Until then I had no idea who she was but I was impressed. Then I downloaded a poker game from the app store, not a real one where you play with people, I don't think I'm ready for that just yet, I think I'm just playing against bots, but I can't really tell. Then I went to Apple Books and bought the book I mentioned. I'm taking notes from the book I am reading, familiarizing myself with the vocabulary of Poker, and trying the strategies on the game I downloaded - for starters. Thank you for having me, I wish my welcome was longer than 3 days here :truestory:, but I guess that's not to be unless you fix it. I am going to play Texas Holdem. If anyone has a suggestion on where I should start testing my poker skills, please do so. Should I go to a Casino or start online? Kindest regards. Salome

Welcome on the PokerStrategy forum :welcome:

I would most likely go for online first. The stakes are lower. You can play 2c/1c NL2 online and in a casino the starting limit depends, but I expect it will be most of the time at least NL200 ($2BB). Than you need to play with a stack of at least 200 in the currenty of you're country.

Cheers,
