Not playing at the pokerrooms you mentioned.
I think, in general, the word "Mystery bounty" attracts a lot of recreational players and happy gamblers, which makes the chance of you having a huge edge over the general playing pool very high.
The sit&go format Mystery bounty is new to me, I do play a lot of (full ring) Mystery bounty mtt's on GGPoker.
Hitting a mystery bounty is like playing the lottery, and I haven't YET managed to get a big bounty.
The 6 max is a turbo, you hit them often. I am just not sure how to adapt with strategy, often you get 5 people jamming and calling on first hand and then you are left playing for barely over a buy in that first gets ♦
I did some calcs and it is actually the best strategy for these 6-max mystery bounty S&Gs to go all in the first hand with any two cards (unless others don't go all-in, then you could theoretically be more selective, but this never happens in practice). Background is that if you fold you are typically heads up with just your starting buy-in against a player with 5 buy-ins, most of the prize pool is already gone and you can thereafter only win one bounty + slightly more than your buy-in as prize pool for first if you win (while at a 5-1 chip disadvantge), so in total the prize pool for the winner of this HU match is just slightly above 2 buy-ins (incl. avg. mystery bounty winnings, depending on the bounty prize pool at the time) but you are at a deep chip disadvantage (5-1) that despite the fishyness of the pool I don't think anyone will be able to make up by skill edge to a sufficient degree to where you'd be a favorite. Also the games are very shallow and opponents are happy to go all-in which makes it impossible to have a sufficient edge on them where you could overcome such a huge chip disadvantage. Based on my calcs, the EV of going all-in with any2 (even 72o) against 5 other players at the beginning of the game with any2 is higher than folding even if you add a decent degree of edge to the HU EV.
So yeah it's just a gamble where you flip with any2 against 5 others and to beat the rake you'd need to have an unusually large mystery bounty prize pool at the time you enter the game. You can make your own calcs for how high it would need to be, but it's typically not worth it...
