Could be, but if you shove any hand in a poker game you will lose more than you win on long run. That's why it's smart to read our PokerStrategy articles and videos. Off course I can help you if I know what your favorite poker format is.

If you shove in the wrong spots, you can also lose big.

I like the topic of this discussion; playing 6 max, finding spots which favor the big shove, to be paid off by working the table dynamics, keeping track of my give away of bets, the first question, is this type of approach the best way to get paid off bets by using this tactic? The next question; are my opponents risk adverse, risk takers? How many will my game identify correctly also tells me how well I am reading the dynamics as a whole then break down the other 5?

I also cannot lose what I do not put into the middle, but I will also not make much as well. What spots to be risk adverse, which spots to be a risk taker? I believe understanding where the opposition is in this behavior, it is easier for my game to set up these spots by how they respond to my play.

When the opponent is ready, the build up to a spot, becomes easy to read, what happens is experience from doing this over and over; the reads of shoving in the right spots reads right, then does it matter as much what you are holding? What I am asking my game; is my hand even though, as starting hand ranges go; is my holdings the winning hand and my play leading up to the initial shove my opponent will not believe me and the shove then looks weak.

I am paid off in these spots more than the top of my range hands, I believe since the talent pool at my level knows more than they used too as the game of Texas Holdem is evolving since its inception into the main stream.

The other is how well does psychology of actions over X amount of orbits, will the table understand the behavior of what is happening or are they just playing their cards? These type of players have a certain dynamics that will pay off. Risk taking LAG'S have a different actions that they will also pay off shoves, each in their own way.

For my game the basic winning or losing big becomes the game, the mental game play of shoving to win bets, risking to lose shove bets, if my session is now in this spot to know why I would risk my stack or lose my stack then my experience better be in my "A" game target otherwise, why would I risk one bet in the first place?

Thank you all for the post and the inspiration to post in this discussion.

I will expand, just played about 20 hands, then left the 6 max table. I was doing just what I posted, I set up by playing tight, to further understand these particular players I have very little hands against according to my tracker.

Then I was watching my LAG across the table, he was also careful not to pay off their stack to another.

Then by limiting the hands I entered, I had the opportunity to three bet preflop OOP in SB, because after folding on the river in a big pot, they continued first to enter a raise, I three bet them and they folded, then UTG, I had AA, I limped, the target three bet my limp, I shoved, they folded.

Then in the BB, I called their raise, we checked it down, they became risk adverse because OOP they were afraid of my trap betting, I only had Q6s, the starting hand is not the reason I called it was another action, a different action, to see if they were paying attention and why?

Then in the small blind, on the next hand I had 85s, the same target entered the first raise again, because showing 99 down on the previous hand, they were afraid of the board texture with my trapping actions in the psychology of their play.

I three bet 85s, over their raise they folded.

What happened and why I left, my play shut down the other players, and the dynamics did not favor my play. I also observed the table after I left, the table dynamics switched back to the other players playing more hands.

By not getting my target to pay off my stack, also the other players did not expand their range to create extra action based upon dynamics switches I did not have to risk bets, or risk my stack, it made no sense to, and the information gained was the payoff.

Now today just played a 30 hand session, not having any hands against the other 5. The psychology, the mental part of what opponents think about my game does not matter because my game is going to push on their pre-flop play. Having enough of good and bad experience, this allows for being transparent because the first part needs to be done with sub-optimal image then switch the dynamics once a certain level of action or non-action is obtained.

What my game is working on because of just reading the start of thread, then thinking about how to contribute, for some reason the brick wall I was hitting now has pushed my strategy of how to accomplish the flow I need to have an edge no matter how many times the dynamics switch or my game can switch them.

This to go back to the statements "Only way you win is to play" "All in is only way to win big".

My game and not just this thread but blogging about playing 20 hand sessions, then within those sessions, there are usually X amount of clusters of hands played, how many hands total of the 20 that I entered, what image was my game setting at the table... and so on.

My goal is the skill to obtain, by playing 50 hand sessions and my VIP would be the top range 50 or above, or 30 -35 VIP then use a image of a TAG however, my starting hands are that of a LAG, and then flip-flop the image's.

Thus, creating as many edges with skill, the skill then leads the opponents to not worry about the bets and then the all in becomes the last part of the two statements.

Without the first statement of playing how would I ever achieve the latter?

Small increments of adding to the formula by working to obtain skill then this relieves the "self" from what others may think to truly relieving fear from the equation because of the courage to apply all focus on what a persons game wants to achieve.

Now the thirty hands played, I came out re-raising pre-flop and showed down 29s, because of my pre-flop play I could have bet in position on the turn when the A came out because of my pre-flop play, but on the river I hit two pair and since they checked Flop, Turn, and River. I wanted to show the hand and play off and hopefully this tilted my opponent, and I want to see what the other 4 will do moving forward.

It has been awhile since I have had this opportunity to show down garbage with the right dynamics of image.

However, the target left the table, and the short stack to my immediate left started three betting my play, the other two were neutral, so, it was not the greatest of outcomes to keep playing past 30.

I will keep trying to work up to having clusters of hands to further dynamics along, thanks again to the person who started the this thread this helped with two simple statements that are true each in their own way.

Just slightly on the extreme side.

I play Rush & Cash on GGPoker at the minimum stakes.
I came to notice a player who is playing 4 tables, has a 40% VPIP, and always raises first-in 5x or folds.
If a player raises before him, he 3Bets 4x the open raise or folds.
He then jam pretty much any flop.

After folding about 30 hands to his 3Bet, I decided to 4Bet AJs -- he folded.
After that, I 4Bet him every time, or 3Bet him if he open-raised.

Then I adopted a similar strategy, but more at the 25% VPIP level.

Fairly successful.

Thank you, VorpalF2F, I will apply the adjustment to how you see what I am trying at the table as to help understand how the better players will see their opponents.

I am trying to find a sweet spot in which it does not look extreme to better players such as your game.

This experience I am hoping that it will further my TAG game along with understanding how the better players will see my type of game and so on....

Thank you again.

Also to how you were betting them with three and four bets, do they ever become more aggressive without hands or does it take a better hand to challenge your game in that moment; just curious?

Because at my level what my better opponents are doing to me is just what you typed, is there much before this happens that would slow them down or do I just have the wrong approach to many times in this situation leading me down this road?

To continue about learning, MTT tournaments, playing and identifying the extreme part of what my game will do, when playing a 6 max.

By doing this, on Saturday after Thanksgiving, playing a tournament I have not played in a few months since starting my part time job. Finishing 5th, in this 6 max tournament, playing tight not trying to get involved in areas in moments where my game normally plays. My game will naturally open up against weaker images, and how their game will play weak in areas in which I am stronger. Especially 6 max.

So, by giving these moments up to a better spots later in the tournament, this helped to be more prepared to know how aggressive my game needed to be.

In contrast still looking to push these moments in cash, funded my buy in to the MTT tournament, by still working on aggression by dynamic reads, and switches now the word"extreme" helps to construct more information for my opponents to deconstruct my range. Thanks again.
