Overall, I really liked the coaching. It's great that you covered study habits in detail!

I liked the idea of the drawing tool. However, since what you wrote was not interactive, but preset, I think having the writing appear automatically (pretyped) would be better, as there were a lot of pauses, while you were writing. So if it's interactive, I think it's an option. If it's not, probably a different tool would be better. Or maybe you could type instead of hand-write to speed up the process.

Also, some people seemed to have problems with the audio. It seemed as though your voice activation was set a bit high, and therefore bits and pieces were lost. Would be great if that could be fixed for the next coaching.

Other than the technical issues, I definitely enjoyed the content. I look forward to you putting the session online; especially a picture of the black board would be great.

As you mentioned you were looking for ideas, I'd be interested in ways to improve your focus while playing poker.

Look forward to the next session.

Hey there,

thanks for the feedback. I prefer drawing to typing, it's more natural and it's way better to draw mind maps and connect things than to just type text IMO, that's why I chose it over powerpoint and stuff like that.

I do however agree that the pauses can be a bit annoying, so I'll look into that and try to develop a solution :). The best would be if I could make things appear similar to power point, I don't like the idea of everything being written out and visible to begin with though.

As for the audio problem, it seems to be limited only to some people whereas others' audio was fine. I will however look into that as well, it might be the problem on my side as I do have a new headset, or it might be a problem with the coaching player as it often is. I did set the activation level to 5 from 15 though, so maybe I can try setting it even lower next time :).

The black board picture is here as promised, again I apologize for my crappy handwriting, but it should be readable :).

I will most likely produce the video tomorrow and then send it to pokerstrategy, hopefully they will upload it soon. I've checked the voice quality there and it's great (better than with the old headphones I think :)).

Regarding the ways to improve your focus while playing poker, being active (thinking about the ranges constantly, watching opponents) + healthy nutrition + exercise + avoiding distractions (using addons like stayfocused, telling people not to disturb you while you're playing) does the majority of the work in that area, but I can still look into it and explain it a bit more in depth :).

The next session will be on 16th of September (in 2 weeks), so look out for this thread :).

Sorry I'm late!

Just wanted to say that it was a very good coaching. Liked it so much!
Very complete and instructive!
Wish it was recorded so i can review it entirely cause i've missed the first 30'min.
Just maybe one point to improve, it's the sound. I don't know if it was the sound of your voice or the sound of ur pc but i had some trouble to hear you, even if the sound of my pc was in max.
Otherwise u did an excellent job!!!

Unfortunatelly i don't know if i could see the next coaching, the 16th, cuz usually at the time of the coaching, they are interesting tournament to play, with interesting prizepool.

Here is the blackboard from this weeks' coaching (staying focused).

DND = do not disturb, which means that you should tell other people not to disturb you during your poker sessions ;).

Unfortunately I've failed to record the coaching this time, so if anyone has missed it and would like some further explanation, please add me to your friends list via community tool, send me a message to add you on skype and I'll gladly explain everything to you ;).

Hey there,

first of all, here is the blackboard from today's coaching :).

The next coaching will most likely take place on Oct 28th and the topic will be Poker/life balance.

And now, as promised, the example of a time log (it can be this simple):

7.00 Wake up
7.00-8.30 Shower, walk, breakfast
8.30-10.00 Poker video - learning
10.00-10.15 Short break - juggling
10.15-12.00 Reading forums, youtube
12.00-13.00 Lunch
13.00-15.00 Poker session
15.00-15.15 Short break - pushups
15.15-17.00 Poker session
17.00-20.00 Out with GF
21.00-20.30 Posting hands in evaluation section
20.30-22.00 Browsing forums
22.00-22.30 Dinner, flossing
22.30-23.00 Reading in bed
23.00 Sleep

Of course this is just an example that I've just made up, but you get the point :). You can also add to it how you feel at certain times, to see whether pushups work better as a break than juggling, etc.

Really liked your video from coaching on Time Management, I was glad to see that I'd already incorporated some of your teachings into my routine already and was eager to add more. Most notably, keeping a time diary has kept me a lot more focused and motivated and I've become an even crazier mad-man when it comes list-making.

Thank you for introducing me to Scott Young's blog also, I really like his use of the Feynman Technique, it is really a great method to check whether you know something well enough.

I look forward to watching the rest of your coachings once I've finished learning some important articles (I'm prioritising my list of things to do :f_cool: ).

Once again, thanks a lot dude and keep up the great work!
