I'm fairly new to PLO. I am extremely picky about starting hands. I generally only play 4 cards that are 9 and higher or very strong rundowns (no lower than 5). Although 4 cards 9 or higher are a pretty strong rundown anyway so that's kind of redundant. Of course there are exceptions such as my position, opening action, and players, but generally I only play premium hands. If I get double suited aces or kings I will probably play them regardless of what the other two cards are, though I probably shouldn't. But again, situation-dependent.
I'm wondering what percentage of hands that range corresponds to? Top 10%? Top 5%? I'm weak with statistics but am strong with programming, maybe I will write a brute-force application to calculate it. I'm especially curious about the difference between double-suited, single-suited, and rainbow.
Are there any free Omaha range tools out there, even if they are very basic?
At the games I play it is amazing the garbage that so many people play. It's no wonder some people make so much money.
