For some time now I have only been playing NL and thought I would give this format a go. (challenged by a seasoned pro)
I lasted all of 30 minutes heads up and feel utterly embarrassed by my failure. :sifflote:
But I am not going to throw in the towel just yet. Before the game I studied the basics for about 10 minutes. Not really a great idea knowing about this game well in advance. :fouet:
So this format has got me interested. Any advise on good learning materiel would be much appreciated.
Maybe next time I will stand a better chance.

Just for reference I have put basic hand info together.
So each player is dealt 5 hole cards, The first player after the blind acts first (raise, call, fold) and betting continues clockwise.
Determining a winner is based on the best 5 cards, 2 through to 7.
A Royal flush, Jack, Queen, and King will not help out the player’s hand during the round.
If two or more of the hands have the same value during the Showdown the entire pot will be split equally between each player that tied. Suits will have no ranking in order to determine who will win the pot.
From least to most powerful hands. Meaning Jack, Seven, Four, Three, Two –all of the same suit will rarely win as Seven, Five, Four, Three, Two is the nuts.

Spoiler

Jack, Seven, Four, Three, Two –all of the same suit
Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four—a straight
Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three—a “lower” straight
Five, Five, Five, Six, Three
Two, Two, Seven, Six, Five
Ace, Nine, Six, Four, Two
Ace, Eight, Seven, Four, Two
Ace, Five Four, Three, Two—an “Ace High,” not a straight
King, Jack, Eight, Seven, Four
Ten, Seven, Five, Four, Three
Ten, Six, Five, Four, Three
Ten, Six, Five, Four, Two
Nine, Seven, Six, Four, Three
Eight, Six, Four, Three, Two
Seven, Six, Four, Three, Two
Seven, Five, Four, Three, Two

For me 27SD is one of the weirdest format. Can't decide if I like it or not.
