Colour Coding for Cash Games

Hey ladies and gents,

I thought it would be a good idea to get a thread going for people who want to discuss colour coding for HUDs such as PT3/HEM or PS Elephant based on Cash Games.
So Whether it's HU/6-max or FR please specify.

For example, VPIP 6-max
Red (REG/Good): 0.00 - 15.00
Orange (LAG/OK player): 15.01 - 35.00
Green (Fish/donkey): 35.01 - 100.00

Obviously people will have opposite colours because their brain will process these in different ways but as a basis of tagging a player as a certain player would be good to add.

I'll get the ball rolling and post some stats that "most" people would use.

VPIP
PFR
AFq
AF
3bet PF
F to 3bet PF
Att to Steal
Fold blinds to steal
Fold BB to steal
Fold SB to steal
CBet Flop
Fold to Flop CBet
WTSD
W$SD
Donk Flop
Squeeze
Check Raise Flop

Regards,

Kyle.

I'm no NL player, but I'm almost certain a player with a 0% VPIP can't be considered anything more than solid. :f_p:

haha, I know this. but it more states the fact that we are playing against a TAG and we don't want to play against them. so someone playing 4/3 is tight and we don't want to play against tight people obviously.
So, would you add an area in there somewhere like 0.00-2/3/4 as green/fish?

This colour system looks familiar.

Yahuh. I decided to make my own HUD based on your colour system so I know how to do it for the future.

Being momentarily sans sarcasm, yes, I colour code tighter than optimal stats separately from TAG/reg stats due to the tighter ranges for easier identification.

why fish? but being OOP and able to get his blinds is always +EV

I had 4 color levels for about 20 stats for FL SH, but i'm still NL fish...

Still haven't figured out a good colour code.
If someone has a good idea here feel free to share :)

I'm also thinking of adding W$SD. Can someone help me with some colour coding for that stat?

I came to most of these values reading a lot of forums, articles, analyzing software, etc. And some I've been adjusting from time to time.

Feel free to criticize and share your thoughts. I hope you can help me adjust some values and I hope my post is useful to someone.

Don't think you it's more effective to color by multiple stats instead of just one?

I think the most useful example of this I've seen is how Kraada colors his stats based on other stats so that you have a good idea of how the opponent plays just by color.

Can you guys post a screenshot of your tables with the HUD ?

It would be better for us imo :)

I play at partypoker using the table stacking system.
That way I can navigate trough big readable tables and without need the hud to resize. The table looks something like this with the hud (I only opened a table so I hadn't the table stacking on):

EDIT: Sorry about the poor JPG quality, the colours aren't quite right.

I only use 3 colours but I have 0-45,45-55, 55+. For my hands stat I use 3 colours grey for under 50, pink for 50-200 and purple for 200+. I am gonna give 5 colours a try.

I need help with W$SD, Squeeze, Donk bet flop and Check/Raise.

You should remove abbreviations and learn your HUD

Hmmm..
And why "should" I do that? What's in it for me?
When I was using about only a few stats it was easy to remember. But if i'm playing more than 810 tables of NL SH it becomes hard without abbreviations and with so many stats.

It would save room on your tables is all it helps but if you think you can't do that don't worry :P

Hmm.. Yea it would probably help if I was playing FR. It wouldn't be possible to play with my SH HUD and with abbrv.
But since the picture I posted is the exact size I play with there isn't that much visual pollution on screen :)

hey justkyle88, thanks.

You could tell what stats you're using, since there aren't abrev showing :)

And btw does anyone uses the auto rating feature? I never bothered to explore it. Does anyone find it useful?

I use auto-rate. I think its helpful. for example, u can note all TAGs (eagles/money-bags) as regs and steer clear of them and note some fish with bomb/dice/tornado's.
