I'm probably missing something obvious
even so please help me
When i use hand range calculator option in equilab and type in wanted minimum equity i get ranges with significantly more equity than i wanted
f.e when i put 10% range and minimum equity of 50% i get TT+, AQ+ as a result, which actually have 60.2% equity vs 10% range.
What am i doing wrong?
I don't think you're doing anything wrong.
I noticed this quite a while ago, and I merely assumed that it was Equilab giving you an "edge".
For example:
Equity Win Tie
MP2 39.76% 37.83% 1.93% { 44+, ATs+, KQs, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, ATo+, KQo }
BB 60.24% 58.31% 1.93% { 88+, AQs+, AQo+ }
60.24% when I had asked for minimum 51.
If I'm being picky, I just add or remove combos until I get something closer:
Equity Win Tie
MP2 48.26% 46.28% 1.98% { 44+, ATs+, KQs, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, ATo+, KQo }
BB 51.74% 49.75% 1.98% { 22+, ATs+, ATo+ }
I think it's just a quirk of Equilab...

no no no ... this totally wrong :\
The handrange calculator determines the range in which every single hand (!) has the given minimum equity ... not the whole range.

Thanks, nopi...
That does make sense.
I tested that idea with this range:
TT+,ATs+,KJs+,ATo+,KQo
The handrange calculator returned :
Hand range with equity greater than 53.00 %:
JJ+
AQs+
AKo
The worst hand in that range is AQs, which showed:
Equity Win Tie
MP2 45.71% 39.74% 5.97% { TT+, ATs+, KJs+, ATo+, KQo }
MP3 54.29% 48.31% 5.97% { AQs }
I tried a couple more after that, and the results proved you right -- ALL hands in the range have the equity desired or better.
Did you figure this out on your own, or is it written somewhere I haven't found yet?
Thanks!

Nice work!
I guess that qualifies as "figured it out on your own" ♦
Thanks for letting us know...
