Hi all,

personally I am not using a randomizer, but the other day I saw Landon Tice use a simple and neat one in one of his videos. And I thought I'd rebuild that as a Web App.

Here it is: https://randomiz3r.surge.sh/

This randomizer has 2 cool features in my opinion:

1. You can open the URL on your phone and run it there. That way you don't have to move your mouse away from the tables, or even to another screen.
2. You can set your preferred frequencies by changing the URL. Just replace the numbers by what ever you prefer. E.g. https://randomiz3r.surge.sh/10/25/50/75/90

Feel free to use and if you want give feedback if you have any ideas on how to improve.

Cool!
I myself use only 25%, 50%, 75% frequencies and use my watch for this.
25% - if it's not past 15 min of an hour
50% if it's not past 30 min
and 75% if it's not past 45 mins :)

Hi monteCarlol,
Thanks for sharing this!

I've edited the thread title to comply with https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2002004#post2002004

I did similar, when I wore a watch -- but I used the second hand.
I didn't use it that often though.

In the modern world, where solvers say "raise 60% fold 40%" and so on, they become useful

Right, anyway the tool is so simple yet so effective.

RNG

Some time ago I added a random number generator that generates random numbers between 0 and 99 either on left-click or in regular intervals.

Usage

  • Open the app in your browser on your computer or mobile device
  • Resize the browser window and place it on your desktop or use a mobile device
  • Left-click generates a new random number
  • Specify a time interval in seconds to trigger the RNG with the last URL parameter
  • E.g. https://randomiz3r.surge.sh/timer/5 triggers every 5 seconds
  • Use 0 to trigger only on left-click ( https://randomiz3r.surge.sh/timer/0 )

nifty — I like it, but I'm not sure how I would use it at the table

I think people usually use it like this: Whenever you want to apply a mixed strategy (e.g. 25% call and 75% raise) you trigger a random number, and the higher the number (in this case >25%), the more you tend to go for the more aggressive option.
Of course, if you do not apply mixed strategies, then there is no use in an RNG.

Yeah I looked it up.
I used to play mixed strategy with some AA and KK hands — like I would 3Bet/Shove if both cards were "Black" (:spade::club:), Flat if both were "Red" (:diamond:) and 3Bet call everything else.

With a tool like this it might make sense to try this again.

One thing — when I click to get a random number, sometimes the numbers flash by for quite a time before they stop.
I think I would prefer instant.

Cheers,
