did the email come from your own email address?

If not surely you can get it back, if yes you should really think about keeping your passwords secret

Hi guys,

As mentioned - the maximum period of self exclusion on the PokerStars client is 180 days.

If you wish to permanently self exclude yourself from playing at PokerStars or chose a time frame between 6 months up to three years, please contact wecare@pokerstars.com

I guess this email would have to be sent from your own personal email address that you have set up your PokerStars account with - but I don't know that for sure.

@Cathal08

Has your account been excluded forever or has it been done so for a certain time period?

Once self exclusion starts there is no way of returning it. It would be a legal nightmare for PokerStars to overturn it and it simply won't be done.

Please ignore the other comments about setting up another account - as it would most likely end in the confiscating of funds and been permanently blocked from their site. PokerStars security is second to none and they will find out about it for sure.

Keep us up-to-date with how things progress but I would certainly take a look at our Choose the right Poker room for you thread

All the best,
Gary

That's correct, via the client, you can only exclude yourself for up to 180 days.

However, sending in an E-mail can close your account forever, and once you do that, there's no turning back. So the next time you're on tilt, and want to exclude yourself, make sure your account doesn't get closed forever.

The self-exclusion is the worst thing ever. Yesterday there was some technical issue and i got excluded in the middle of a $5spin off tourney. When I contacted PokerStars "support" I was told that it was my fault and nothing could be done. Today I accidently clicked on the button myself when i was trying to look at other games while I was playing a $2spin off and a $.55 bounty tourney...
Apparently PokerStars is unwilling to remove this inconvenient button and turn this into a settings function, which would stop this problem I keep getting on PokerStars...

It is my belief that this button is required by some countries' laws.
In Canada, this button doesn't exist (at least I cannot find it)
